Is it true that men from other countries are specifically coming to Brazil (especially Rio) to take part in the sex tourism trade here? I am currently in Brazil on vacation and have noticed that there are many men here looking for easy sex with Brazilian women and because of the lack of opportunities for these women, they are offering easy sex for male tourists all over Copacobana. Is that the only attraction for men to Brazilian culture...the opportunity to get laid?

In all seriousness though, WHY do some people (and why is it always women) assume that because someone's in the sex trade, they're "slaves?" Some of them make good money - and they're paid in CASH. If I could double my salary by going down on a few women, I'd be right there. I mean I do that on as regular a basis as I'd like but they're not PAYING me to do it. THAT would be nice. I'd rather mess around with one woman who PAID me than mess around with three women for free, I tell ya, I don't get no respect.

I've never been to Brazil, but certainly it's not the only place in the world offering sex to tourists. The sad thing is - I wonder how many of the women involved are there by their own choice? And how many are children?
Brazilian women may be hot, but anyone who wants to have sex with a (real) slave has a real problem. Don't even get me started on children.

Sex tourism is every where. But in Brazil no girl is forced to do any thing. They all do it willingly. No sex slavery here at all. Maybe some pockets here and there. Escort sites are in every city to provide the girls opportunity to advertise for their services. Very soon the FIFA World cup is starting, and sex tourism is at the mind of every red blooded male. It is really sad to see the answers in this question. Human trafficking is such a big problem in many countries around the world.
And to see so many nutjobs taking this so lightly is sad. I would recommend to some people to see the movie THE DAY MY GOD DIED, where they show how Human traficking affects the lives of all people involved in it and how the mafia of it really doesnt let the women or children have any other opportunities.
There is a non profit based in NY also that works with Human Trafficking victims and are doing a great job in helping and empowering women and children to leave the "business".

A lot of countries do this so don't be so shocked. In the US they have Spring Break weekend where college kids flock to the beaches across the country for alcohol, sex and fun. In Holland they have the Red Light District. What's the purpose of going on vacation if you are not going to have fun.
