Not much impact at all. There are plenty of other stores to shop for similar products - Target, KMart, etc. There are also many smaller stores who have been put out of business when a Walmart comes into a town, so these type stores would be back in business eventually.

Lets see those of us that live in small towns with only walmarts and grocery stores would have to travel to other towns to shop. Little stores rarely sell what is need for basic living(think toilet paper, toothpaste, cleaning products) at least here in Kansas + little stores charge more because they don't order so much which means we pay more. Also consumer spending would be down b/c a lot of people work for walmart. Where are they going to work if walmart closes? A lot of people ,usually not those who work there, complain that walmart treats employees poorly ,however, here in rural America that is not the point the point is people can get a job somewhere other than the chicken plant.

None possibly, except that consumers may even benefit without Walmart and other big box stores.

Walmart and other big box stores are supplying products that cost less and are cheaply made (poorer quality).

Many of these products just barely meet the standards set out by UL, CSA, and etc.

They have bought out or forced out of business smaller retaillers.

This has reduced competition which generally has a negative impact on the consumer.

Big box stores have accelerated the throw away society we now have.

Many items are cheaper to replace (re-purchase) rather than repair.

Microwave ovens, TVs, sump pumps, many types of electric heaters, printers, scanners, monitors and the list goes on.

Good Luck

If Walmart did not exist then all of the little stores that they put out of business would still be here and all of the factories that they have forced to move overseas because they refused to pay their vendors a fair price, would still be in business in the USA. Plus, cities would have more tax money since Walmart will only build outside city limits. We might all actually be a little better off without Walmart.

Absolutely none. There are far more stores than Wal-Mart.
Competition is fierce and I am sure in no time somebody would take there place.
