Never been there, but I generally think of a hard working blue collar state. I can't stand your football teams because I am a Hoosier and a die hard Colts fan, but I won't hold that against the people in Pennsylvania. Pretty much I think of factories and hard working people. I'm sure there's much more to the state and the people, but that's the first thing that comes to mind.

I love PA! My hubby and I go at least 4-5 times a year. We stay at a great B&B in Lititz (near Lancaster). We love the people. Everyone is so friendly and polite. When ever we go, we eat at a local diner type restaurant with the Menonite people. We love it so much that we plan on retiring there! If you can, go visit the Lancaster County area were the Amish live. It's beautiful!â¥!â¥

When I think of PA I think of being stuck in traffic on the 70 and stopping for lunch and finding nothing but fast food joints packed with fat people and oddly enough, amish people.
Honestly, the other day on my way from Boston to Toledo we stopped for lunch in PA. We went in to burger king off the highway and there were 2 Amish ladies arguing over whether they should use credit or debit.
It was totally surreal.

I've been there a few times. Much history, lovely countryside and mountains, the Pennsylvania Deuch, the bell, steel and of course, the Hershey Bar!

like the other guy said, I'm a hoosier and a colts fan, but I do see similarities (we have a big amish population, mostly rural, slighty sheltered maybe?

What I liked the most is that I could buy clothing there without having to pay tax (which is the way it should be everywhere).
