It was James Clyburn of S.C. (D)

He was not being anti American unless he also said the welfare of the Democratic party is more important then the welfare of America. He was just stating the truth about the political landscape. It is widely acknowledged, even by the White House, that fact that the Iraq war has gone badly is bad for Bush and the Republican party and responsible for the Democrats winning back the congress. Is this also so anti American?

Yes isn't it great to know that one party to win elections would prefer to have troops dying and the battle to fend off Islamic terrorist lost. That shows the level the Democrats have gone to but it is no difference than how the party started on this with their move to this type of hatred of the military and the country during the end of the Vietnam war where they basically said the same thing.

I believe this is the article:
Clyburn: Positive Report by Petraeus Could Split House Democrats on War
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/30/AR2007073001380_pf.html

"Clyburn noted that Petraeus carries significant weight among the 47 members of the Blue Dog caucus in the House, a group of moderate to conservative Democrats. Without their support, he said, Democratic leaders would find it virtually impossible to pass legislation setting a timetable for withdrawal."

It's not about "anti-American", it's about being able to get consensus on a timetable to bring our troops home. Without enough support for such a timetable, more of our soldiers will die everyday if there's no consensus on a plan to bring them home.

Unfortunately, all too many Democrates feel that way.
They put political power ahead of the troops and the country.

Nothing will encourage more terrorist attacks on the US and it's citizens than a military defeat in Iraq.
Some say you can not defeat an idea and they are wrong.
Tojo had an idea, bombed Pearl Harbor,Hitler had an idea too.
I have an idea, that we will vanquish our enemies, live without the threat of terrorism and have what we want most,PEACE.
Come on ,you can't defeat an idea .

I just a clip of a con repeating this garbage about a nonexistent clip they just watched about a fictional Democrat claiming that if the war went well(actually, cons being the English challenged goobers they are,it's usually "if the war goes good"),it would be bad for the Democrats.

Isn't that,like,freaky?

You,know, the odds of this kind of coincidence.

I have one of those 'demotivational" posters in my office. it shows a photo of nanct Pelosi and Harry Reid and the caption underneath reads:

LEADERSHIP

"You're never beaten until you admit it"
-General George S. Patton, Jr.-

I think that tells the whole story
