Hmmm....tough question. The best I can do is to tell you to read John chapter 14....or better yet study the entire book of John.
"Can you get there from here?"
Jesus said "...I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
This verse is pretty clear. The way to get to Heaven is through Jesus.
In John Chapter 15, Jesus talks about how we can "remain in Him."
The Bible doesn't give a physical location of Heaven. But getting to know Jesus personally leads a person to that knowledge (through faith), and ultimately, He (Jesus) is the one who gets us there. The book of John as a whole reveals alot! (On a side note, I find it interesting that John also happens to be the one who wrote Revelation. Of all people he was the one God chose to give that revelation to.)

The material heaven which most people are aspiring for (Part of Gods creation) is all the stars in the sky. They are heavenly planets and people go there if they have very good Karma. The eternal Kingdom is beyond the material creation. IT is bigger than all material worlds. Neither the material heaven nor the eternal heaven can one get to in this body or by any machine. It is only by Good karma for the material heaven and Pure love of God for the eternal Heaven. It is all described in the Vedas. Read Bhagavad Gita as it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada asitis.com you can read it on line.

You canNOT get THERE from here! As long as you identify with your learned ego's 'feelings/fears/attachments' you experience a closed holographic system and can perceive nothing else as available.
BUT, heaven is immediately accessible in the NOW if you are able to doubt the ego's programmed beliefs and choose a new experience that is suitable for the Real you.
We are in heaven or hell every moment of our lives - and for most it is hell being rationalized as acceptable or "just the way life is." Most people have no idea that reality mirrors the contents of consciousness (no matter how delusional and goofy) and they are only trapped in their own illusions.
The ONLY way out is to REMEMBER what you love, what you long for as 'full aliveness.' The WHOLE enchilada! It cannot happen otherwise.

Heaven is right here right now.
it lays behind a veil of the purest gold, gold so fine as to be both a perfect reflector and invisible all at the same time.
you can visit while in the 'flesh' but you need to desire that knowledge with all of your heart. Pray for this vision and LOVE God, purely and openly.
things of the supernatural realm are all around us.......you need the Holy Spirit to teach you these things.
many take the keys of this world (drugs, magic arts, etc ) to get there......however there is nothing like the direct line to the splendor straight from God not by our own power....
ask for it but be prepared there are smoke and mirrors.....guardians and distractions.
If you really want to SEE pray to the God above all gods for direction.
These types of desires are not coincidence....when you want to know for yourself and ask..it will be given. Constant prayer to God will connect you to the right mind heart body alignment so that you can understand what you are experiencing.
God puts these desires in our hearts...you have been called.

Heaven (aka Swarga in Hinduism) is located in the core of the sun where temperatures exceed millions of degrees centigrade. It is in such temperatures every soul atman feels comfortable. On the contrary hell (aka Naraka in Hinduism) is located in the periphery of sun where temperatures are considerably less. It is in such low temperatures the soul atman feels uncomfortable!
Heaven is a place in the cosmic system where no living being can enter bodily. Heaven and hell are interim places for souls to rest. When matching parents are not available on Mother Earth... the soul atman cannot manifest a body. If the residual balance of karma is positive... the soul atman gets heaven as the resting place. If negative... the soul atman suffers in hell!
Heaven is not a concept... a man-made idea! It definitely exists in the core of the sun. When the death of the body occurs... the soul atman immediately manifests a body if matching parents are available on Mother Earth. In absence of the same the soul atman hibernates in heaven or hell. As advocated by religions world over... Heaven is never a place for enjoyment bodily!
Come to our fold and you shall get a seat in heaven... is the call of most religions! Religion primarily is a ritual... not a path to Almighty God! Every serious seeker of spirituality travels the spiritual path to reach God Almighty. Bhagavad Gita... the most sacred Scripture of Hinduism on Mother Earth is a sure short method for reaching God Almighty.
Human beings must never have a longing for going to Heaven. As is our karma... so shall be our next manifestation. A good balance of karma does not lead us to Heaven (Swarga). On the contrary... a positive balance of karma can definitely result in our manifesting a higher platform in the human form... never otherwise!
The cosmic travel in bodily form is not permitted... our soul atman being a pure cluster of cosmic energy! In the circumstances... the religious masters advocating a seat in heaven is pure myth... something beyond the comprehension of the religious masters. Sometimes I think that heaven is as near as the mind.
Perhaps our minds can make heaven seem unreachable.
Maybe it is an attitude, not a 'place'

Heaven is so close cuz when someone in your family passes away they appear as an angel. And angels come from Heaven so in thsi instance its closw in my heart.

biblically speaking there are three heavens. there is the one where air is and birds and planes fly. the second is the area where the stars are. the third is the place where GOD resides. we know the distances to the first two but not the third. and, yes you can get there from here if you accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior and follow his commandments.
