I dont know if you guys agree or not but the music back in the 80's and the early 90's was the best ever with bands out in scene like Whitesnake, Skidrow, Cinderella, Damn Yankees, Guns n Roses, L.A. Guns, Warrant, ACDC and many other.

Do you think that kind of music would ever come again ? I really miss all that glam. Now a days no band is close to what these guys were back then. What do you say ?

Rock On..........

Easy. The genre was called hair metal. Nirvana and the rest of grunge buried hair metal. Game over.

Whitesnake was a real life parody. The only reason the masses cared about them was because they had Tawny Kitaen crawling around the hood of a car.

AC/DC was decent but let's face it. They are getting old and don't seem to care about putting out new music anymore.

Haha! i'm into 80's track too, yet i grew to become into your age back then! As human beings seem for something new it is hardship-loose to look back to the previous which in a manner is new too by way of fact it is see you later in the past. have faith it or no longer interior the 80's there grew to become into 60's nostalgia and interior the 70's that they had 50's nostalgia. Plus the fact that solid track can come from ANY age/decade. PLUS the fact that young ones are very herd-like of their habit and traits/fads can capture on very promptly between a team. /save rockin'

I miss it, too. I don't think it will ever come back the way it was, but it will never be gone. Haven't you noticed that kids these days listen to the old stuff, too? My teen loves Guns N Roses, Slaughter, Damn Yankees and more.

The good news is, so many of these bands still tour, and they play smaller venues so the tickets are cheaper and the seats are better. And it's kind of fun to see who's playing with what band these days. For example, currently on the Rock Never Stops Tour is Vince Neil, Quiet Riot and Slaughter; Dana Strum originally with Slaughter is actually playing with Vince Neil's band opening the show, and so is the guitarist Jeff Blando. And one them is also getting back on stage to play with Slaughter. Very cool.

Some of the old faves have also put together super groups - look at Velvet Revolver and Scrap Metal (I especially like this band because they perform the hits from the old bands of each of the members).

Music is cyclic: It all comes in circles.

The music of the 80's gave way to the drudgery of rock that was anything but "love and happiness"... just like the 70's. HOWEVER, in the middle of all of that, you had the acoustic stuff (just like the late 60's), and the soft and shmaltzy tunes (just lilke the 70's). ALso, there were equalk doses of pop tunes that the teenie boppers dug... just like the 80's.

As for the music coming back??? No, not really... there are plenty of bands out there that play music that is influenced by that era; however, the largest tours of the past few years have been the Poison summer tour... so there is always hope.

I'm all about the 80s too. I think it's still popular with the people who grew up listening to it. Plus, several of the bands are still touring. I don't think it will ever be as popular as it once was, but there will always be people who enjoy it so it won't go away.
Besides the glam image which was a lot of fun, there were some really talented musicians. Just from your list Sebastion Bach's vocals are really as good as it gets.
Great stuff!

Every band and trend has it's period. To be honest, rock in the 80s started to get repetitious due to the "hair metal" period. Still though, there are plenty of bands right now that have major influences to the 80s rock scene. Just won't find it on mainstream radio.

I agree with you. 80's rock is the best. I love it even though I wasn't alive then. I'm 15. I'm on the fence when I think about it comming back. I want it to come back because the music was great but I don't want it to come back because it won't be the same as it was back then. But, it would be really nice if it came back and was the same.

Well I know alot of teens are listening to:
Def Leppard (but i would consider one of the modern rock band- because of the new albums being released)
Skid Row (yes- wow!)
Van Halen (helps of the 2007 tour)
and I see lots of Cinderella shirts
and AC/DC is still popular.
But Poison- I LOVE POISON! THEY ARE COMING BACK! THEY CAN BE AS BIG AS DEF LEPPARD!
so- don't feel bad- Kids are listening to it.... for fun and support of rock!

I agree, the 80's and some 90's music was the best ever made. Don't forget about MTV, Foreginer, Dire Straights, and many others.

I wish it would come back.. glam metal rocks!
But it probably wont.. which really sucks. Everything out today is crap!!! Rap and Hip Hop suck, i wish it would all die out.
But hey, there are bands like Metal Skool on the Sun Set strip... if you really want it back, go down there, they really bring it back. Do a hell of a show!
