The most pleasant experience is scratching, the worst is that very irritating itch or tickle, especially on the end of the nose which always seems to take place when I am not in a position to scratch it when I`m carrying something.

I thought you scratched an itch...? And the two words coexist in harmony. Not each as an activity. An itch is a physical annoyance. A scratch is an action you perform with your hand. Other things you can do with your hands include:
tossing pancakes
making jam
stuffing turkeys

To scratch when you itch is better. You can't itch before you scratch unless you are psychic. Being bored has nothing to do with it. You can itch whether you are busy or bored.

When bored, to scratch definitely as you are simply itching without a purpose. With eczema (i have had it since i was born) I itch with the sole purpose of satisfying the itch - however the itch is never satisfied it merely moves to another part when that part is all itched out.
Ultimately antihistamines take it away completely!!! ;-)

Scratching for no reason can be cured but if I said that this was better than itching that would be cruel. Lots of people suffer from nervous, selfconscious bouts of humiliating involuntary habits which often show up as needless scratching.
Lots of us guys sit there in public libraries etc, quite calm until Miss Babe Essence walks in and what do we do...scratch something! anything, drop a pen, get up and look at books in the cookery section, dumb things, peeling skin rashes braking out and all because of the need to do something that is totally un un un needed...............!

Neither, if you are just doing it cause you're bored! But I would rather scratch than itch!

It depends on where the itch is, cos it's not polite to scratch in front of others.

i had a problem of my legs itching and i would scratch them till they bled. my doctor said that if i would just slap the itch it would get the same results without bleeding. amazingly it worked,
so slap that itch instead of scratching it.
