There *is* gravity on the moon, but it's much less than here on Earth. That's why the astronauts could jump so high and far.

Technically people only jump up.Gravity brings you down. There is gravity on the moon but much less than there is on the earth. After thinking about it I must ammend my first statement. You can jump down,,for instance ,if you are on ,,,let's say a table, you could jump to a lower position,,,let's say the ground.I think that's just really stepping off and letting gravity work though.Just an opinion. You have a good day and enjoy some music.Van Halen or Criss Cross mabe......

Everything that has mass produces a gravity field. The Moon does have gravity, but the gravity on the moon is only about 1.6 m/s while the gravity here on Earth is 9.8 m/s.

There is gravity on the moon. Because the moon has a smaller mass than the Earth, the gravity is less (about 1/6th of the Earth's), but it is still there.

Why do you think there's no gravity on the moon? There's no gravity in space, true, but who ever said there's not gravity on the moon? The moon has 1/6 less gravity than the earth.

There is gravity on the moon. It's just not as strong as the gravity of earth.

The moon's gravitational pull is about 1/6th that of Earths - so, a 175 pound man wearing a 65 pound backpack weighs a total of 240 pounds here on Earth, but only 40 pounds on the moon.

OOOPS.....Error.

The Moon does have Gravity.
The Moon's gravity is about 0.225 times
the gravity that Earth has.

That is why when people on the Moon
jump up, they come back down...not as fast
as they do on Earth...but they do come back down.
