There's a really cool place outside of Orlando called Lake Louisa in Davenport. If you go 4 West out of Orlando to 27 north about 5 miles. Nice lake with a beach, trails, and you could even rent a cabin and I'm pretty sure they had RV set up too.

There are many places in Lake County to do some decent stargazing. As mentioned above, Eustis is a good place to start.

Midway Fish camp at SR 50 and the St. Johns River. It is about 30 miles East of Orlando. Miles from any city/town illumination. You will have unobstructed views of the sky to the horizon.

Drive to St. Cloud and take 192 east towards Melbourne. There is nothing for about 40 miles and is safe enough to pull off to the side of the road. Just make sure you have gas!

Try the beach rd (garden st.) in titusville, once you go over the river there is no more development (other than nasa). Just head east til u come to the stop light...right goes to the VAB (vehicle assembly building...u can't go right!!) and left goes towards haulover canal...there are several spots to pull over and do some gazing...it's pretty dark out there.
