It's normal....but how far open ARE you?? It's ok to be 1-2 centimeters...as I was 3 by the 33rd week, and no problems. But be careful with taking baths...it could lead to an infection. Just talk to your doctor. Afterall you are a mother now, so go with your instincts. Good luck to you!

First off baths wont lead to an infection until you lose your plug and your water is broken. Second, your doctor may keep a close eye on you to make sure your cervix doesnt open any further. There could be several reasons. You could have whats called an incompitant cervix. Thats where irregardless of your bodies readyness, your cervix decides what it wants to do, simply put lol. As for dangerous, like i said your doctor will watch you and make sure nothing is changing. Good Luck and take it easy!

Its normal for your cervix to open, as long has it doesnt keep opening and at a fast rate. Now thats a bad thing. But i dont know how open you are so. usually 2 centimeters is ok. Some cases a little more is ok. But i would ask the doctor, just to ease your mind.

You need to go to the hospital. That is not normal for 24 wks. My doctor has been checking me every two weeks to be sure that it is not opened and I'm 21.5 wks. If it is opened bacteria could enter and that is not a good thing. Call your doctor and let them know what is going on.
Good luck.

Is this your first pregnancy? If it isn't, then your cervix will apparently always remain partially dilated with consecutive pregnancies, if it's your first and your doctor isn't concerned about it I would just relax. Congratulations!!
