I just love these people that say..."Realty the economy is just peachy..etc. etc." You must be in that 5% top bracket (or think you are) or your living some imaginary life revolving between your ears!
The US economy does suck, put your ear to the sky and you may hear it. So many companies are tring so hard to save a buck that their all moving jobs overseas and our fantastic government is supporting it. Invest in Halliburton.

Actually, overall it is very strong. Certain people suffer because they lack training and skills, but overall it is among the best in the world. If you want to see an economy suck, visit Bangladesh.

If you would like to improve the American economy, vote to reduce regulation and vote to stop national health care plans that the various candidates have submitted. They are fatally economically flawed. No candidate wants to do the things that would actually help, so they are doing things that sound nice.

Reduce government involvement and pass as much power to people and local government and away from the national legislatures and the state legislatures.

It seems to go in cycles. I am not particularly worried about it because we had a slump in the 80's, mid 90's and it appears to be starting again. Our only hope is that it is a short slump and not a recession. Wars, seem to make the economy better because of munitions and military contracting so I don't expect a major recession.

We manufacture nothing, import everything, export only raw materials and agricultural products.

Economists would have once described that as a recipe for disaster.
