Well, the game is in what is supposed to be the neutral location of Jacksonville, although it's obviously much closer to Gainesville than to Athens.
Seating/tickets for the game is split evenly among the two schools, so it's not really a "home" game for the Gators.

It is called a contract with a lot of money going to each school before the tickets are divided evenly to both schools. The rivilary has been this way for several decades, and if you ever go to one you will see the fan base at the game is evenly distributed as well. If you have visited Jacksonville, the fan base there is pretty even as well. But the reason it happens in Jacksonville, is tradition and money.

They are both in the SEC East...In order to crown the East Champion they have to play each other. Winner of the East plays winner in the West...thus the SEC Champion. I think there's a "name" for that game. LIke the "Largest Cocktail Party" or something like that...it's held on a neutral field.

"Neutral" field. It maximizes ticket sales from both schools because Floridians don't have to travel all the way to GA and vice versa.
It's the same with the Texas/OU game being played in Dallas every year.
