I think it's coming in about 5 years.

I'd also nominate the for the drinking game.

The Mayan calendar ends in 2012 with no explanation given. This doesn't mean that they believed that the world would end there or anything else. To the best of my knowledge they did not leave any prophecies regarding the end of the world on that date or any other. Consider this, would you trust a prophecy from a civilization that didn't foresee it's own demise?

Lol! My brother told me about the world ending in 2012.They say the Mayan calendar ended on December 21st 2012. I wouldn't take that to mean that its the end of the world, though. I have to admit, I will probably be a little anxious when that day comes, but for right now I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. Haha.

my question is, has anyone considered the possibility that the Mayan creators of the callendar thought "Oh goodness I'm out of room. Oh well, the people in 2012 will just have to make a new callendar then. What are the chances our civilisation will be eradicated by Europeans, and our meathods and culture lost?"

Is this about an ancient kingdom predicting the end of the world? Love each day and don't think about the future.

Lots of people do, probably, but I didn't until you asked.
But I'm too busy thinking about every day stuff. Like they say, one day at a time. Besides I've learned not to plan too far ahead, because something always changes..

Earth's magnetic field changes polarity, people go to sleep for 3 days, all kinds of havoc ensues, unless you are aware of what is going on.

I thought about it when I first learned of the "end" I don't believe anything will happen, but I'm sure it'll be a huge news story.
