The Dance by Garth Brooks
This song reminds me of my wife. She died almost 2 years ago at 37 years old of heart disease. The Dance was played at her funeral. I always try to think of all the good times we had together.

Two Rascal Flatts songs mean a lot to me.
I played the instrumental version of Bless the Broken Road as I walked down the aisle at my wedding. It pretty much symbolized how much I had been through in my life to finally get my husband.
Stand by Rascal Flatts is also important to me for a similar reason. It reminds me of how much I've been through, and that life always goes on. Whenever I feel down about something, I listen to that song for inspiration.

Well, If I can only choose one it would have to be:
Soldiers Wife by Roxie Dean
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzv00v5UojI

It reminds me of my husband and how proud I am of him, and it reminds me of most military wives and what we do and deal with while our loved ones are gone.

A SOLDIER'S WIFE
Breaking News from a desert town
Smoke and rubble on the ground
The names we do not know right now
And it cuts me like a knife

With a tearful goodbye kiss
I sent him off to this
But I've gotta stay strong for our kids
I'm a soldier's wife

I run the house
I sleep alone
I live for e-mails
And the phone calls home
I tell my children he will be all right
And I hope it's not a lie
I'm a soldier's wife

We do the things we used to do
Go to church, go to school
But you could drive a truck right through
The hole that's in our lives

My little boy shoots me a grin
And says he wants to be like him
And I feel my heart start caving in
I'm a soldier's wife

Sometimes I'm angry
Sometimes confused
I live and die by
The evening news
But I tell my babies he will be all right
And I hope it's not a lie
I'm a soldier's wife

I pray for strength
I pray for peace
I pray that he comes home to me
And if you would please pray for me
I'm a soldier's wife.

I can't pick just one. My two favorites are "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton and "You're My Better Half" by Keith Urban. I have been a Dolly fan forever and this song just touches me for a reason I don't know yet. I think its the emotion in her voice. You can just sense the heartbreak and the love she pours into this song. And "You're My Better Half" reminds me of my best friend who lives far away. It's "our" song. She's my better half cuz she brings out the best in me. Both of these songs are amazing.

For me, personally, it would be Brooks and Dunn's "He's Got You"

http://media.putfile.com/Brooks-and-Dunn---Hes-Got-You

The reason being is that I was in a relationship for 25 years and my better half died unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm. I know the song was written from the perspective of a man who's ex has moved on with someone else but when I hear it...let's just say that when Bill passed away everyone said that God had a better plan for him. I am not saying I am deeply religious but that is how I think of the song when I am feeling melancholy. That song goes through my mind all the time especially the line... "What's he got that I don't...The one thing I thought I'd never lose....he's got you". You would probably have to listen to it to understand where I was coming from but it is definitely one song that I will forever think of him.

Alan Jackson - Wanted

A pretty song sung in a narrative voice about a man wanting forgiveness and he still loves his girlfriend/wife. I play it when I get upset and take a drive to clear my head.

Wanted!
One good hearted woman
to forgive inperfections
in the man that she loves.

Wanted!
Just one chance to tell her
how much he still loves her
he can't be sorry enough

It rings true everytime I listen to it, especially in marriage.

Mine would be Shine by Keith Urban. It just reminds me that even though life may not go the way you want, someone is always there for you, shining into your life.
