I have recently read a report that all the statistics on global warming are completely made up and that the earth is actually coming out of an small scale ice age that why it seems warmer.

And that this misinformation is out there so that we will be distracted by the larger problems such as war and poverty. What do you think? Could it be true?

What Al Gore brings to the table is science facts and years of data. So he is not the most perfect role model. My dentist chews tobacco, and told me I should quit. I did quit, but as far as I know he still dips. Just because my dentist dips doesn't mean changing my behavior on his account was less important. Everyone knows we need change, but nobody what it to be themselves that change. Whether or not we are changing the world the facts are still the same. The predicted outcome will still happen while the world argues about what is responsible for it. We as a species need to stop arguing about nonsense and prepare for the future as we know it could be. Who cares if it was humans that caused all the global problems, what we do next is really the important issue. The past is the past and we can't change that, but the future could be changed for the better if we start now.

There used to be forests where the ice is at the poles (thats why the Russians want to claify ownership of certain parts of the oceans in question) where there were prehistoric forests there must be oil.
Forests to ice......now thats scary....and we were not even around then,
The earth is a strange and wonderful place that is changeable and beyond our control.
One of the other contributors to your question said we are the highest form of life on the planet...I totally disagree...we are not, we are just pompous enough to think we are, we have caused more death, pollution and destruction than any other animal,
we are filling our seas with toxic waste which we are then ingesting in fish that are high in the food chain. (tuna shark etc.) putting chemicals into the animals we eat that we have no idea what the long term effects will be to ourselves or the envoronment, we are putting beta blockers and birth control pills other harmful medications and all sorts of cleaning products into our water via the sewarage system , which are then being ingested again. No wonder our bodies and our babies are suffering.
Global warming...not a problem the way we are going...this is the least of our worries.

hmmm... I don't know. I don't think Global Warming is real (here come the thumbs down). The earth goes through cycles, this is proven, and it's just all part of the cycle.

We, as humans and the highest form of life on this planet, do need to take care of the planet. I'm not against that, in fact it's Biblical. But am I going to start freaking out because there are a few more hurricanes or the ice burg is melting? No. The ice burgs melted thousands of years ago and then refroze. There wasn't pollution a couple of thousand years ago. So I have come to the conclusion that its all part of the cycle that earth goes through to cleanse itself.

Besides, if Al Gore really believed in Global Warming himself, don't you think he might conserve more energy? I mean the man uses up enough power in his one house to light all of Nashville...

well considering for years scientists couldn't make up their minds if it was real or not, and then it becomes popular it's all of a sudden real. and if you look at all the dead lines for all these "needed" changes are 50yrs+ from now. it makes it kind of hard to check any real progress. the whole thing seems like more of an inconvience than a dire situation anyway. so yeah it's probably 100% possible that people made a fake problem because real ones are too hard to solve.
