I can't figure out if the C for cold is on the right or left side. If right side, does this mean I have to turn the handle to the right to get cold water?

Also my handle is not a knob it is more of a lever. If cold is on the right I would actualy have to move the lever to the left to get the pointer to move to the right.

Help what is the standard here? Is it the same for sink faucets?

Cold pipe on the right , hot on the left. That is the standard in North America, allthough I have been in some american hotels that can`t make up their mind from room to room. Follow the instructions and you are all set.

Installing Shower Handle

Yeah,I can see why it would cause confusion.
Unlike a kitchen faucet, which has no pointer, the one for the shower does.
In principle it makes no difference.
If you want to use the same convention as the kitchen faucet
(handle to the right=Cold,to the left=Hot) you can do so for your own convenience.
Unless the cover or escutcheon plate already has the markings
embossed it it.
If you want to test it,connect a piece of rubber hose to the shower control and hook it up to a laundry faucet.
Then you'll know which is which :)
In some models you can turn the cartridge to change which is Hot or Cold.

Hot water is on the left and cold on the right;
If you can*t remember when using the tub put a red dot on the hot water faucet and a little arrow pointing to off.

Always install hot water on the left. This is an industry standard and will also make resale more appealing.

My aunt had a fly-by-night plumber run hot water to all her toilets in the new house she had built. Oh boy!

i'm no longer attentive to a house heating equipment that runs on water, so i won't be in a position to assert for particular what the subject is there. although, i'm attentive to code standards for TPR valves, stress valve... What he did there ought to be very risky. The valve isn't meant to have ANY ninety degree bends in it in any respect... although, when you consider that older ones are on precise of the tank, an excellent variety of people think of it incredibly is okay. it would be a promptly pipe from the launch valve that discharges via an "air hollow". (think of a backyard hose it extremely is inserted right into a three" pipe.)
