It's a smoke/CO alarm, so they both have separate lights for each. So it's not the CO alarm that's going off, it's the smoke alarm. But i smell nothing and it's been doing this for months, i had to take the battery out of it. I know it's not safe but it hurts my ears everytime it goes off. And i tried putting a new battery in it, so that's not it. We even tried blowing in there to see if something somehow had gotten in there to set it off, but that didn't work. So, please give me REAL responses, i don't know if i should just get a new one or not. We have no other ones in the house either.

Is this happening after you have a shower? Sometimes steam from a hot shower will make a smoke alarm go off, too. However, it doesn't hurt to have a repair person look at it, either.

My smoke alarm goes off for no reason too sometimes. If we open the oven or something it goes off, even when there's no smoke! I think it may have to do with heat from the oven or something. Is yours near something hot? Like the kitchen or something?

Where is our alarm located. My alarm would go off because the steam from the bathroom would set it off. I would check to make sure that something like that is not happening. If it is still going off I would go and get a new one. Id check with your local fire department and see if they one they would recommend.

Is it placed in the kitchen near the stove? The heat from your oven or stove top may be setting it off. Mine used to go off every time I opened the oven door until we moved it to the other side of the room. They are called smoke alarms bu heat will set them off too.

It's time for a new one. I have seperate smoke and CO alarms, and my CO was doing that. When I looked it up on their website, it said to replace it.

the performance of smoke detectors is greatly compromised when they are placed in areas that get dusty and fumy. Attics, Kitchens and Garages are places where they get dirty. A rate of rise heat detector is a better fit for these locations. If you need to clean the chamber, you can blow it out with canned air. That is what us professionals do.

You should talk to your local fire department, because something could really be wrong. It could be something from carbon monoxide to something that you can't smell that is threatening the life of you and your home.

I would get a new one. Is there a warranty on the old one?
