I don't really know that you should be getting your song ideas from other songs! To me, when a person writes a really great song they are letting everyone else in on a little piece of who they are. I don't think you can write a great song and not put at least a little bit of yourself in it.
Sure if you want to get ideas on how to structure a song, etc., then look at some great ones. One of my favorites is "Light of a Clear Blue Morning" by Dolly Parton. Just keep in mind that the content needs to come from within you. Good luck, I know that you work at it and write sincerely you will have a good song on your hands!

I know it's lame...but there is some Kelly Clarkson song...gets me a little sad everytime I see it...it's the one with the little girl in the video who always sees her parents fighting.
