I was reading a Michael Vick article and saw PETA mentioned. I have seen their name enough that I decided to look them up and see what they were about.

"PETA believes that ... like you ... [animals] are capable of suffering and have an interest in leading their own lives; therefore, they are not ours to use — for food, clothing, entertainment, experimentation, or any other reason."

Wow! The go a little overboard don't they? I don't wear fur. I don't eat shark or whale or dolphin. I think it is ridiculous how some experiments are done on animals in the name of science or health when it involves something like make-up or perfumes and such.

I don't think we should ban true medical use. They are invaluable. And as far as for consumption goes: we are omnivores that eat both meat and plant. I admit I eat a burger or hot dog every now and then. Most people in the world do.

I am all for the ethical treatment of animals, and for fighting animal cruelty, but I also think they take it a little bit too far sometimes.

PETA is nothing but extremists and terrorists! They committ violent acts and say its in the name of animal rights...yeah what right do they have to go and throw paint on someones property, or put up slanderous billboards about people because others are not doing what they think we should do! I read a billboard on the subway one day from the president of PETA and she said that even if they found a cure for AIDS, she wouldnt condone it if the testing was animal based. Now....we have an epidemic in the world that affects humans, on a GLOBAL level and she is more concerned with the rat that its being tested on than human life....That is what the real shame is......

PETA should have no relevance and should be completely shunned and ignored by society. PETA knows the benefit that is given to humans from animal experimentation. This is the very reason they are against it. I am all for the police beating up (thoroughly bashing in the skulls) PETA protesters that trespass on private property.

PETA IS NOT PRO-ANIMAL IT IS ANTI-HUMAN.

This is not 'taking it too far', this is my honest feeling. I have personally benefited from animal experimentation and would have no sympathy for any member or supporter of PETA who suffered or died from a debilitating disease or disorder. In fact, I would be elated to see every member AND supporter of PETA be drawn and quartered. It would be absolutely justified considering the harm they have caused humanity.

There is no such thing as 'Animal Rights'. Rights only apply to human beings, animals that use reason, not instinct, for their means of survival.

Like all extremist groups it is the fight many of them desire more than the cause behind it. If every animal became safe today do you think they would be happy? No.. they would move on to another proclaimed injustice so they could raise hell somewhere else. If Peta spent as much time and money helping out at animal shelters and rescues as they do trying to expose other groups maybe they could make a difference.

What PETA actually stands for I agree totally 100%. But as in all cultures or groups of people there are those who take things to the extreme. Those people I do not agree with. I mean why in the hell would you send someones children HIV infected needles? That is just ludacris.
