with the new rule change and the 2 line pass eliminated... would it be a very dangerous thing for players to come out of retirement like Scott Stevens, or Vladimir Konstantinov... would they be a terrifying threat on the ice due to their love for open ice, high speed hits.. or will they be simply skated around???

I wish the two line pass would have been eliminated YEARS ago. That and the much hated IN THE CREASE rule damaged hockey. It not only took away from players like Stevens and Konstantinov, but also forwards who loved open ice rushes. Can you imagine how many more points and assists Paul Coffey could have had without the two line pass.

No, the faster more open game that they would be playing was the POINT!

the one bad effect I've seen is that at the end of a PK when the guy is getting out of the box, the defending team will pass it up to him and he'll get a free breakaway, often scoring. That would not be able to happen in a two line pass world.

i think they'd definitely get a few more penalties for their corner work but they would still set up some yard sales open-ice with guys trying to get long breakout passes...and calm down guys, this is obviously hypothetical, if you think he's serious about konstantinov coming back, you're an idiot

Um, where have you been? Vladimir Konstantinov has BRAIN damage from the limo wreck in 1997. He can't
even skate without assistance.

I still think once a guy has retired he's better off to stay that way. If these guys were 5 years or more younger then yes they should be playing but if they were 5 years younger they would be playing.

You need a brain buddy.

Vladimir Konstantinov will never be playing hockey again, unfortunately.
