Sounds like some communication and negotiation may be in order.
Have you told him exactly why you want to cut your hair. Are your reasons because you are tired of your current cut (has he done anything in his appearance or routine to change things up at all) are do you feel that you would prefer shorter hair because it would take less time to care for (then you would have more time for him) or do you just think yo would look better in a new cut (have you shared with him what type for cut and showed him a picture)
Try to find out why he is opposed - many guy just don't like change - if he thinks you are trying to spruce your self up it may be triggering insecurities in him and you need to assure him that you are not trying to attract attention from other guys.
Mostly what he is saying is that he likes you just the way you are - communicate to him that you will still love him the same treat him the same and that this world will not come to an end.
Remember that many men have a little boy that needs reassurance living in there hearts.

Last I checked you were you own person and if you want to cut it then CUT IT! Its not for him to tell you no! He may like that your hair is long but he needs to respect the fact that you want to cut it short because you right he didn't just marry you for your hair so he will get over it.

All men like long hair for some reason. I have an idea! Go get it trimmed and come home and see if he notices. Every week or so get just a little more cut off and finally to the length and style you want. Did he notice? If he didn't, then he doesn't care what kinda hair you have. If he does notice the first trim, tell him that you will be getting it shorter every time you go. This way you and your hubby and get used to a short haircut.

The real question is why do you want to cut your hair short? Now that you are married, you don't need to be feminine anymore? Once you land your man, is there no more need to keep yourself attractive for him.
Men don't like change very much. He married you because of who you are. Who you are includes your hair. Change that and you begin to strip away his security. If you stop spending time on your hair, perhaps he thinks you are saying you are going to spend less time on him. Men can be sensitive to a woman's lack of attention toward them and spending time to fix your hair represents paying attention to him ... perhaps.
On the other hand, us men have no idea how much of a pain in the **** hair care can be... we are pretty insensitive/dumb/stupid to that aspect.

My husband always told me how I should wear my hair. Until I decided it is MY hair not his. He gets his hair cut the way he wants to. So now I cut my own very short and I like it. He hates it. Oh well! I am still my own person. When we signed the marriage license that doesn't mean he can control me. Do what you feel comfortable with. He is your friend, your partner and your husband BUT he cannot control you unless you want him too.

Cut it short and when you first show him your new hairdo, look good - cute clothes, earrings, makeup, whatever you usually do to look good. He will probably like it. (It might take a week or so for him to get used to it.)
If he really doesn't like it, it is up to you. If you want to keep it short, keep it short. If you want to grow it out, grow it out (and make him happy).
Getting your hair cut short is not a permanent thing. You can give it a try and if you decide it would be better long, you can grow it back out again.

It's your hair so do what you like. However, I think you're husband feels like he loves you the way you are and is afraid you won't look as good with shorter hair. Once you do cut your hair, he will feel a bit like he's with a stranger until he gets used to it.

Maybe he thinks that it wouldn't look nice on you and wants to protect you from feeling down... lol... if u want cut them it's your hair anyway, but do a research for it first... It's quite a big decision you know... Go to a very good hairdresser and discuss with him about what would fit u etc, and prove your hubby wrong... :-) well, b careful... good luck!!!
change is good.... :-D

do it anyway, I told my husband that I was cutting my hair short, I'm tired of being so hot all the time, he didn't like the idea of it, but I did it anyway, and did it myself, and it looks really good, he likes it now

welll he prolly just thinks its very sexy on you and loves to play with it and stuff, butttt let him know that it can be a pain in the *** and you'd be happier without so much of it and let him know it's not like you wanna buzz cut just more managable style...
annd if that doesn't work, next time he goes to do soemthing to his body, like shave his face or even comb his hair be a smart *** and say NO and when he does it anyway go get ur hair cut :P
