resolution is 800 by 600 pixels, with color quality (32 bit). My monitor type is HANSOL 720 ED, my PC is Celeron 1200, 128 Mb RAM, HDD 20 Gb. That is all I know about my PC. How do I get to know about my PC video card and input type?

you can tell which video card you have through the Display Properties > Settings panel ... see what it reads at Display:, below the picture of the monitor.

click Advanced > Adapter for more possible info.

google for any manufacturer's info on that card.

look at the card. VGA = 15 pin connector, DVI = larger more rectangular connector with 24 pin positions, SVideo or Composite = TV/video monitors

generally speaking, your main video card is about *output* to the screen. input is keyboard and mouse, etc. if you want video input, then that's a different type of video card.

To see if you have DVI or VGA you need to look at the back of your system. If you have a connector with 3 rows of 5 pins it is VGA - usually coloured blue. If it is a block of 3 by 8 pins plus a wide tab with 4 pins in a square it is DVI.

For your system I would place a very large bet that it is VGA.

To determine the graphics card there are a few ways:

Open up Display properties (right click on the desktop and then select properties) Go to the settings tab and it should have a line like:
Plug and Play monitor on XXXXXXX

The XXXXXXX is your graphics adapter.

Or you can open up Device Manager (Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager)

In the list there should be an item called Display adapters (usually near the top of the list) Click on the little + sign next to that and it should show you what video chipsets you have in your system.

I think the monitor is not getting any data signal transmitted from the VGA. If the system is running without giving display, then check the VGA drivers or try with another monitor now if u get display or if the system is not working and with no display, try processor/ram/vga card cleaning. If the system is running with display of another monitor then ur first monitor has internal problem get it repaired.

The best way is to use a software like Sisoft Sandra ( http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/ ), that will tell you bunch of stuff about your computer. About anything that can be said.

Further more it will give you tips about how to improve and comparison graphs with any other device there is.
