I was at game five against Utah. GS didn't show up.
Look at it this way, fans haven't had anything to get excited about for a long time. Suddenly they do one thing that was pretty amazing and they act like they won it all. These are the same fans that were bad mouthing their own team and not coming to games for the last 12 years.
Also GS became the Cinderella team for the year, the NCAA tournament didn't inspire one. There was no other team from California in the second round, so GS became the bandwagon team.
The big thing would be if they can carry that momentum into the next season and especially into the playoffs. Then the GS fans have a legitimate reason to be excited and maybe a little conceited. They just better watch out if they run into my Jazz again.

As a resident of the Bay Area, I can tell you it is simply the unjustifiable arrogance of the people who live here. Look at Raider fans......
Had GS played anyone else in the first round they would have lost, had Dallas played anyone else, they would have won. Nelson simply focused all his energy into beating Dallas, and Dallas was a bit unprepared for GS.

Flavor of the month - they did a pretty amazing thing in beating the Mavericks. This, of course, brought a lot of media attention . . . and, let's face it, the media has never paid much attention to the Warriors. The fans were enjoying the spotlight - yeah, sometimes a bit too much - but when you've been so bad for so long . . . well, there's a lot of excitement.
