that sounds strange. you can run anti virus and anti spyware just to check if you are infected or not. for antispyware try spyware doctor: http://www.2-spyware.com/review-spyware-doctor.html

The others may be right and this is some sort of spyware. However I can't find it on any of the databases I can access. Many years ago I used to do work on company mailing systems (mainly e-mail) and brdr came up quite regularly. If you use a program to archive e-mails for example it could possibly use brdr.dll. (or some name containing those letters).
Mark you I haven't seen it used for years.

Another common appearance for brdr is as in abbreviation for border in photo manipulation software.

Before you start worrying about spyware etc. go to search on the files & folders for a file with the name brdr* and then *brdr. If you find a file and it seems to be in a folder for a program you use regularly then start that program. Then start the Task Manager (Control+Alt+Delete keys). Look down the image name list and highlight the brdr file you found with search. Then hit the end process button. Now use the program you started. If at some point it asks for the file you ended above then I don't think you have spyware. If you don't get a request then start Task Manager again If the process you previously stopped is now running I think it more likely than not that you do not have a spyware problem relating to brdr.
