Preferably on with a decent free trial. I'm not spending €800 without sampling the software first, but I can't find a decent trial of any software. Anybody got any tips?

Sylabus (can't spell it) is pretty good for makin sheet music.

GARAGE BAND is the ultimate song writing software. its frickin AWSOME!

i dont know what you're planning on doing with it, but im addicted to writing/producing tracks at jamstudio.com, and its totally free...hope that helps!
