how will democrats improve the economy?

it seems like half of what they believe in would have negative effect on the economy:
-"state-run" environmentalism, the kyoto protocol would have done more damage than jimmy carter, and who knows what else they'll propose with a democrat president. we'll probably have to quit eating bread or some stupid sh*t. maybe we'll have to eat sh*t.

-higher taxes, discouraging investment, foreign and domestic. only the rich of the rich will invest, everyone else will look elsewhere to make money.
-state regulation of industries, its a proven fact that regulating the hell out of a business is inefficient, which is why even China is steadily deregulating.
-gas taxes(from edwards), at a time when gas prices are already high.

the iraq war would have no significant effect on the economy compared to what I listed above, and cutting and running wont fix anything overnight. even now, mortgage problems are causing more damage than the war. free trade sustains our 4.5% unemployment.

David, lol you must have forgotten about jimmy carter, double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, 7.7% average unemployment...o and what did clinton ever do about mortgage loans? the borrowers knew what they were getting into. dont blame the lenders all the time.

ross, the number of rich hasnt decreased. the number of middle class might have, if they became richer or poorer. poorer because the government no longer support laziness as much as clinton did. richer if they recognized the new possibilities with tax cuts.

dadw5boys, democrats have led the US into every war that the US has participated in in the 20th century, except the gulf war. this include vietnam(truman). so where is the debt from? democrats abused the social security system, medicare, both of which are in debt. both were democrat programs.

Based solely on what they are saying, there is nothing planned to improve the economy and it appears that their entire agenda will cripple our economy. I cannot understand why and free American would go for crippling our economy.

Like the Republicans, the Democrats are not going to improve anything because they all have no clue about what to do. They focus everything on insignificant issues and ignore the really important things. They have always done this and will continue to do so.

I have yet to hear even ONE of any of the presidential candidates say a word about the national debt. Instead, they get all embroiled in debates about racism or Hillary Clinton's cleavage, as if it really matters.

So because the focus on things that don't matter none of them will accomplish anything meaningful.

It is a fact the that the economy has always been stronger under a Democratic President. We wouldn't have a mortgage problem if it was regulated properly. Capitalist don't believe in country or people just money, they could care less if this country no longer existed as long as their making money.

Anything has to be better than the right-wing lunatics running the country now.. with 8 years of President Bush, the number of middle-class Americans has reduced, the number of rich Americans has reduced, but the total dollars owned by the rich has increased

First of all by not lieing to the people. Here again the Democrates have to pay off the bills left by the so called RESPONSIBLE Reupblican Party. Every Republican Adminstration has left tons of bills then complain about the taxes Democrates have to raise to pay of the debts.
