Would it be a feeling or emotion that will tell you "that's the Truth" or will reason determine it?

You will detect truth instantly because it is stubborn as can be. It will not leave you alone. It creeps up and spills in all directions. It will not go away. It is bellowed in all corners of the universe, over billions of years.

Truth is redundant, until you get the point.

This is by no means a silver bullet answer but I've found that the truth usually has the following characteristics.Firstly it is always exclusive,in other words does not allow for any other answer.Secondly it is universally applicable, which means the thruth will be the same no matter where you apply it in the world.Thirdly it will remain constant and not change at any time and last if all the above can be attributed to a truth then it will also just make a whole lot of common sense.

I also do believe that on some level that we do not understand truth is wired into our system and if you truly seek it your brain and heart just clicks into place when you do stumble upon it as you state in your question.

The Truth is irrefutable and undeniable, that is how you will know it when you find it. I would like to say that it is a little of both. You use your reason to determine just how true something is, and your emotional response will be to not worry about it anymore. Although thinking that is emotion is dangerous, because emotions are different for everybody, and the Truth isn't.

The most important thing is to seek the Truth without fear; do not be afraid of what you might find out.

Every time I stumble or I should say Seek the truth I get very upset!!! The truth can set me free but at the same time it can be extremely painful!!!!When you believe that a person, place or thing is a certain way and then as you get to know of them better you find out truths say for example about a persons character when all along you did not want to hear wise words of others because you had to find that truth out for yourself say because you wanted it to go a certain way and it did not go the way you had hoped because it was all an act or great acting job by another who say is an excellent charmer because of their magnificent gift and charm you were fooled but now your eyes are opened :))))

It could be both;either,or even Neither!

Possibly with such a question you may be a "fan" of
the "philosopher's stone"; American, western education tells
us that the (so-called) definitive Answer is a mixture of
darwin-ism(survival-of-theso-called-best!)and reasoned
logic.
Read the answer which has been given by Sir karl Popper,
who said that we never know.
And somewhere he must have said that we experience a
sudden "eurika" moment.
But beware; one could be badly mistaken-thus the value
of checks and counterbalances;moreover,the (new)idea
of critical(but relevant)discussion is virtually indispensable
when or as we get-nearer-to-the-truth.
The critical method also modifies the feelings and emotions,
which may accompany the new idea as explained above;
And (as ive explained here before especially with polititions
as they start "in power") all should be aware that bad,
even evil ideas can start in this very same way.
Thus, ALL peace-loving and co-operative participants must
have this last thing "in mind"; This, together with the fact that
SOME people are loathe to accept "defeat"for their theories
(and/or are loathe or so committed to their hard-won ideas
that they never do or really give-them-up!).
So, in the search for truth we are likely to come up
against all the above, and this can easily be daunting and
hostile to further advance(similar to our "universe, which as
we know is extremely hostile to all life!).
