I'd say football, baseball, raquetball, soccer, and softball. I would let her play volleyball but not on a regular team because it makes women butch (same with softball and soccer...yuck!) I wouldn't let he play hockey either (way too physical for girls along with football) I would probably encourage her to do gynmastics, ballet, or dancing. I MIGHT let her play tennis if I know she is very feminine.

Although I despise sport in every form, I will let my daughter play soccer, softball, volleyball, any dancing, tennis or gymnastics. I'd like her to do some athletics. I think so far that my little girl is pretty girly. Never would I let her play football or touch football and I am praying to God that none of these more masculine sports will never even cross her mind.

If a daughter is "butch" then it's because she was born that way, not because of the sports she plays. My sister has twin girls one is very feminine everything has to be pink, purple & glamorus. While the other likes green, blue & would rather play with cars in the dirt. She even cries if you put a dress on her. I have 3 sisters and growing up I was a tom boy, the closest thing my father had to a son. I fished, played sports, built forts, and had a dirt bike. The funny thing now is that I am the most feminine of all of us girls. I wear a dress as often as possible. Keep in mind that as the daughter grows she may very well use this as a way to rebel. If she is constantly told that she can't do something she really enjoys because "it's not femine", she may start to doubt that she is femine...

If she was interested in any sport, I would happily and proudly encourage her. I would give her even more support if she wanted to try out for a sport where there was no specific girl's team. I will never forget the sexist soccer coach I had as a kid who wouldn't let me play in actual games even though I was the best player on the team. Many of the parents of the other players stood up for me too, and got this coach fired.

Hockey is a boy sport and a girl sport. A lot of girls play hockey. I would let her play hockey, because it's a really good sport.

american football or wrestling.
the idea of sports making a girl "butch" is way off the mark!
sports will help coordination, strength, and promote general good health. sports won't make a girl a lesbian any more than it will make a guy gay.
true, some lesbians play sports. so do some gays. but why deny your daughter something which will keep her in good health, encourage her to make friends, teach her teamwork and cooperation and (if she's good) might possibly help her pay her way through college?

I would let her play any sport she wanted, but only if it was safe. Hockey might be a bit too dangerous, with fights breaking out on the ice, but mostly everything else would be okay.

Wow let her have her own life! Let her play what she wants. I hate it when Dads can't accept their daughters just because they aren't feminine enough. If she's good at football let her play! Same goes for the other games. I feel sorry for her!

Get a clue, sir. Girls can do anything boys can do, and sometimes better. Sports don't make a girl "butch". Geez, you should have seen my soccer team in high school. I hope for her sake you never have a daughter.

My girls will play whatever they want. I sincerely hope that they do not want to go into wrestling. I played softball and I am far from butch.
