Not having the capability to make weapons, airplanes, bombs, guns, etc., would that encourage us to have to live peacefully, how could you take over anyone without weapons?
How could we be able to fight far away countries, if we did not have the capability to go there nor use weapons? What kind of primitive kind of life would we have with our hi tech minds?

Remember that there are other ways for our energy to diminish, and there might not be anything to fight over, if it didn't work. Yes, we could use wood and fire, but that is about it. We could plant our food, and cook it....any more suggestions, it is not impossible in the future. We are weak because we are so dependent upon computerization.

That is pretty good "Master Y"...

Me thinks "Master Y" is an alien... that might be the thing that will keep us going after we kill each other off the face of this earth. "Master Y" will help us get back our life, with greater peace.

Impossible this is. Many sources of energy there are.

The ocean water..... 2/3 of the planets surface does it cover. The hydrogen in it.........replenished it can be by the sun.

Wind and Sunlight. These too are sources of power. Water power to power electric turbines. Dams and waterfalls. Swift running water.......many places are these found.

Ethanol made from corn and soybeans it can be, Methane from animals waste........ Too many sources are there.

Animals used for transportation and burden. No...... Weapons from steel still can they be made. Chemicals to make rocket fuel not using petroleum can be made.

Power to do these things is found in the mind not the Earth. Only a change in fuel sources will there be. Always will there be weapons. If only stones and wood....... still would they be weapons.

EDIT: Voice of Liberty> Right you are in facts. Hard is your heart. Death and destruction across our planet there has always been. No room for hope for man do your thoughts leave. Destroy our world we will if keep this way of thinking we do. Weapons that can kill the whole planet now do we posses. Change this must or doomed we are.

No. Look back as recent as the 1700's. The energy that was used then in industry and development was the same as it was 2,000 years ago - Fire, animals, and the sun to grow food. Was there peace then? Look back 2,000 years ago at Rome and the Middle East. Guns didn't exist, but was there peace then?
You people are so flawed when you try to blame guns, bombs, weapons, and any other object that cannot think on its own for our problems. A gun is a tool, like an axe or a hammer. The human mind is the element which allows it to destroy life.

It is NOT human nature to be peaceful or to share or to be equal. If we were al equal, whre then wold the incentive be to succed and produce magnificant things?

Grow up. Realize that in the real world, all the time you spent "dreaming" about ways to make peace is wasted when you could be doing something productive.

No. It did not stop war before energy production. In the real world people kill people, bad men want what other men have and they will kill to get it. It makes no difference if it is with jets or knives and clubs.

Your hi-tech mind is no different than a cave mans. All you have is dependency and accumulated knowledge of how to use things you can not make.

Some of us actually know how to build things and not just push a button.

Far away enemies would be replaced by close enemies.

Some people are so evil and warlike that they would handcraft guns and other weapons and build sailboats in order to fight others in distant places. Lack of energy was not a deterrent in the days before steamships and factories.

No. It would make the world more equal and allow poor terrorists to more easily take over the world.

The world used to be barbaric when energy oil was not important.

Keep in mind, people would still need energy (wood?) for heat.

I think it would bing chaos.
People would realise that a lack of electricity meant a lack of security and looting and raiding and crimes would go up.
People would be freezing, starving and desperate.
Our world is not equipped to cope without power.
We need computers, we need electronic banks and we need electronic equipment that saves and supports lives.
We need light, heat and a way too cook - safely.
Third World Countries need our support and donations.
Starving kids and adults, homeless people and little babies need people who can transport stuff around.

Chaos.
Call me a cynic.

I think just the opposite would happen. If energy became scarce, people would fight to get it and control it.

Don't worry. I guarantee you that the world will not run out of energy. We still have the sun.

Running out of energy could only bring chaos.

Where were you during the black-out of 1977 in New York City? The town got ransacked!

no, people would still hate, kill and rob each other, as long as there is more than 1 person on earth, there will never be peace, cavemen didnt have jets and bombs and still fought, war and death is a part of life, always has been, always will be
