I make great money. I've thought about all kinds of differnet cars from the new Jaguar XKR to the Aston Martin Vantage down to the BMW 325ci.

I don't want to give the impression that I am compensating for anything. I just want a fun, respectable daily driving car. When you look at the car I want it to say maturity, balance, sprited and classy all in one package.

I'm not necessairly looking for attention or a gold digging future girlfriend. I just want people to look at my car and say "you know, if I had the money to buy a great daily driver, that would be the perfect car".....

Looks and power are important but comfort, convenience, functionallity and anmenities are more important.

I hope this was detailed enough for everyone. I look forward to your responses.

Key Word "Young"....

I'm 24 years old.....

SLR McLaurin, SL65, Maserati Gran Turismo and all of those $150K+ are amazing cars that gear more towards the established people that have been making $250K a year for the past 20 years..... I'm in "infant" baller status.....

here's a stat for you to consider. most millionaires drive ford taurus' (or something similar) and don't live for their mortgages either. bottom line is, we have to find balance between spending and saving. I'd make sure my future needs are met with a sound investment/insurance plan, before spending money on my toys. if you've done that, then go with what calls to you. I can see myself in a german or british car, but not so much italian. also, I'd buy an accord before the taurus, going back to my opening statement.. btw, I own my own business and drive an 8 yr old civic with 208,000 miles. I was in financial services for 10 years, and saw a lot of folks get burned by spending money on toys & mortgages, then lose the big paycheck. I own my business, cuz I saved my money. lot's of my past co-workers are still working to pay for their beamers and jags..

I have to say, think German. Germans have a classic understated look to their cars. They also make a car that it is a sound financial choice, having great residuals and being fun to drive.

I would consider a very well equipped BMW 335i. It looks classy, it drives beautifully, it has 300HP. Did I mention it drives great? Seriously, test drive one, you'll get it. You'll be able to get a 2008 model in about a month well equipped in the mid $40Ks. If you go crazy with options, closer to $50K. You get no service bills for the life of the warranty (I'm sure you'll trade by then). Standard service intervals are just once a year or 15,000 miles, whichever comes first.

I've driven lots of nice cars over the years, but I have never driven anything that is as enjoyable as the BMW.

The other nice thing is how you can customize it. There are various different leather colors, two or three different real wood finishes or brushed aluminum. You can option it to emphasis sportiness, or luxury, or both.

Unlike an Aston Martin or Jaguar it doesn't scream, HEY LOOK AT ME. But it does portray the image you are talking about, just in a more subtle way.

If you want to get a little more exotic and 300HP isn't quite enough, take a look at the new M3. They added an extra 118 HP, made the car look far more sporty, and created a monster. If you really want to show off and spend the extra money, this may be the car for you.

If I were you and had your income, I'd just stick with a well equipped 335i. To me spending more than $50K on a car is a waste. You are purchasing a depreciating asset, and will never get a good return on your investment. Save that extra money and invest it wisely.

Well If I had your money I would invest first and drive a New Corvette C-6 regular car at less than 50,000 dollars. But if you must V-10 powered BMW M-6 just screams Your an important person but understated. And if you really want to go all the way on the cover of this weeks Auto-Week is the 08 Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR Convertable. Two things Lots of cash on a bad investment and a limited amount of qualified Mercedes service persons. Chevy Corvette you can get fixed almost anywhere.
