This really happened to me...
I was bullied at secondary school for about 4 years. Not really serious but bad enough.
10 years after leaving school we had a reunioin and the bully was there. By the way he was mixed race (it is relevant!)
After about an hour I was at the bar of the pub and he came up along side me...I was no longer frightened of him....in 10 years I'd learnt alot...but what he said nearly knocked me out.
He said that he wanted to apologise to me for bullying me. As a young child his mother (who was white) had remarried a white racist who had made his life hell for the rest of his childhood. In fact, he admitted to me he was still wetting the bed at 16!. Bullying, as far as he saw it, was his only release at the time.
We spent the enxt 2 hours just talking...he even admitted to me that the reason I was the target was that he wanted to be like me (unbroken family, brothers, good home life etc) but knew he couldn't. The really great thing was that he was (and still is) running his own mortgage business and is doing really well for himself.
Haven't seen him since...but that night was a revelation. I know that not everybody's experience will be the same but it does answer alot of questions, don't you think?

I never suffered from bullies at school as I was not a victim although I saw a fair bit of it. I tell my son not to take sh!t from anyone and if they hit him, he has to hit back harder. Anything more serious (as in a group bullying him) I would deal with myself.
You deal with buillies differently as an adult than as a child, but the end result is the same

forgive and forget - it's all in the past. Most bullies don't just bully for the hell of it, and to do anything now your all older won't make you any better than him/her.
Having said that if i were to come across the bully who made my life hell at secondary school I'd like to think I'd be able to beat the crap out of them.

Schools must not tolerate bullies. Those of you who are being bullied must band together, not to fight physically, but to tell the bullies they will no longer be tolerated. You must report them to parents and teachers. The school must have programs for all students expressing their firm rule to punish all bullies. Parents must get involved. If one of you sees another student being bullied, you must go in a group to his/her rescue , even if you don't know that person. Bullies are cowards who need to dominate weaker people. They will grow up to be losers. Bullies exist at all levels. They must be stopped and it can only happen if students, parents, and school personnel work together.

I was bullied as well and the guy is a good friend now.
Forget.
There are so many things in the world to focus on rather than bring forth unpleasant past memories.
All the best.

Move on. They all probably work in McDonalds now anyhow... Provided they haven't died of substance abuse.
There were more in my Secondary School, there were none in my primary school.
