It is impossible to tell you how long the person will have - as the it depends on very many factors. The information given is not sufficient and the Oncologist who is attending the patient may be in a position to advise further. It depends on the stage of the disease, treatments given so far and the general condition of the patient etc. etc.

If she is in the initial stage of the disease - stage I and II and the treatments viz surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy are given the patient may recover and live for some more years. It the disease is in advanced stages (Stage III and IV) the position may be alarming but we may overcome it by giving proper treatment and it depends how the patient take it and respond to it.

So do not think about the last stages and end and do your best to treat her fully since we can not say anything as CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA. Best of luck for the patient.-

Even in the last stages it is impossiblt to determine within an err of at least a year unless the cancer has found or is shown in other parts of the endocrine system (namely the brain). Esspecially over the internet.

Having personally seen no hope patients make complete recovery from things as simple as flaxseed oil I would get an opinion from a specialist.

The only true option is surgery to remove the tumors as this is the most critical step doctors will want to scan the body for other abnormailities and tumors to make sure that nothing is missed.

The cramping can be cause from something as simple as an oversized tumor displacing tissue and muscle in the abdomin causing strain... this internal bruising and strain will cause pain and irregular periods.

the case I am personaly knowledgeable managed to have the cancer removed by surgery and was cancer free for 18 years until a tumor simply showed itself in the brain.

I have to say that while the doctors will give you statistics and estimates on life, support and quaility of life will go a longer way then knowing what the prognosis is or how much sand is in the hourglass.

You have to adapt with this situation , do not seek about sad things . God will help you (if you want) .

There are new powerful chemotherapeutic agents approved for the ovarian cancer , they act well , also combining them with radiotherapy will aggravate their effects , and in an optimal situation , surgical excision also can be helpful .

My mom has an aggressive type of OvCa (end stage) , she survived about 2 year after the diagnosis ( with a good quality of life ) , this means not that you have only about 2 yr , but the overall survival ratio for OvCa is about 30-40% for 5 yr . It's the nature of OvCa (that usually presents in end stages) .

Try to think about good things , program your future , you can not give up anything more , you have enough time , you can not full your mind with this disaster for a life long .

Lifespan prognoses are based on multiple factors, most importantly whether or not the cancer has metasticized (sp?) and what new blockages it is forming and where. A new tumor in the shoulder isn't the end, but a new tumor on an atrial valve is.

In short, we can't possibly give you an accurate answer. If diagnosed while already in the final stages, the woman needs to go to an ovarian cancer specialist.

It sounds like someone close to you has very serious problems. The woman is obviously seeing a doctor in order for her and you to have a diagnosis. This type of question is best answered by her doctor. The woman and her close relatives should get counseling. There are special places that take care of terminal patients. They know what to do, how to make the person feel as comfortable as possible and have counseling services.

Good luck to all of you. It is a sad story that I do not like to hear, but one apparently that you are going through.

I think you should be supportive of this person and make her life as comfortable and happy for as long as it takes, knowing how long she has is not going to help you or her, it makes life more stressy and unpleasant, Cherish a day at a time , only her doctor could give you this information and you would have to be a member of the family, Make her feel loved.
Good luck
