It depends on which piece, the weather, length of the ride, and how long you actually wear them. For your shorts/bibs, change them every ride since they are in direct contact with a very sensitive part of your anatomy. Plus, no matter what the weather moisture builds up there and that leads to bacteria which leads to possible infections or saddles sores. The best way to avoid that is with a clean chamois. For your other base layers like leg/knee warmers or tights, an undershirt or something like that the rules are a little looser. The items on your legs can probably stand to not be washed for a few rides. The same goes if you use arm warmers. If you have something on your torso then you might get a little sweaty and need it washed. Really, it comes down to how much you sweat on a given ride. If the weather is cool and you stayed dry, I don't see why you can't let most things air out and wear them a few days in a row, just not your shorts.

Normal- Skivvies, ie undershirt and under pants then BDU's

Desert we change color but not too much for the actual clothing items

Cold weather- is really service dependant. There are many optional items. I liked the dual layer polypropelene long underwear in the subzero weather.

Remember in the Desert it gets very cold at night so troops carry the appropriate kit with them.
