both

I've had both.

Guinea Pigs take up very little space and are very low matinence. The problem with guinea pigs is that they get to smell... FAST... and badly... and common species of them shed. The squealing can drive you nuts after a while, too.

Rabbits are a pain to take care of because you NEED to let them run around, somewhere. Unfortunately, you can't let them roam in the house because they chew wires and poop a lot.

Both like eating grass and both are adorable, but I personally think that guinea pigs make better pets because they're happy in cages.

If you LOVE rabbits, you can build it a pen outside but generally they're MUCH MUCH happier when they're not in a cage. They can be litter trained but... I didn't quite suceed in doing that. =D

I would go for the guinea pig because when they really get to know you they squeak and they don't like to come out of their cage so they should never got lost.
