I thought polygamy means they are all married to each other so where's the cheating?

I have no clue, but I suppose if I were to play Devil's advocate & take the definition literally, this couldn't be considered cheating. Since the man is married to every woman he has slept with, if polygamy lived up to it's ideal description, that man would have the consent of his wives to sleep with each & every one of them. He would only be cheating if he had sex with a woman who was not one of his wives.

Personally, I don't believe I could ever practice polygamy. I'm 33, & I still haven't married one woman, so I can't imagine marrying several. I did date a girl who wanted to get married at one point, & proposed the idea of taking in a friend of hers who had recently been divorced into a polyamorous living arrangement with us when we got married, but I was uncomfortable with that arrangement as her friend had children, neither woman was known for being hard workers, & her friend really wasn't that attractive. I have heard of polyamorous situations where everyone was happy, but polygamous marriages seem to often involve older men trading off their daughters like baseball cards so they have fresh, young breeding stock. I think in those cases where the girls aren't allowed to choose if they wish to be in the polygamous lifestyle or not, polygamy is in its worst form.

Personally, if all parties concerned want to be in a polygamous marriage, I can't see any reason not to let them. We live in a society today where homosexuality is becoming increasingly tolerated, yet polygamy is still considered bad. Personally, I think in states where homosexual marriages are accepted, polygamists should use this legislation as a precedent to fight for their right to choose to have multiple wives or even husbands (what's good for the goose is good for the gander). They could easily argue their choice makes even more since from an economic standpoint, as a household running off 3 or more incomes could easily run better than off of 1-2 incomes, or that multiple adults could make the running of a home much easier through division of labor.

I think you are a confused person and doubt the men in general. You do not need an excuse to cheat... and remember, women cheat too!

I think if someone is going to cheat, they will try to find any excuse to do so. But I don't think that people should cheat. If you are going to be with someone, be with that person, not with a whole bunch of people.

I don't know, but I would not want to be in that situation.
