Start seeing him as a person, not an object.
Get to know him, you may find that he's better than you ever imagined, (on the other hand, you may find out that he's the scum of the earth, a wretched being in a pretty package)
If your IQ is dropping, your not seeing him, your seeing your fantasy of him. Even if he's the best thing since sliced bread, once you know him, you'll say to yourself,
"he's gorgeous, and he's my friend"
Quit fantasizing, guys that are worth your time don't find that attractive

What worked for me was practising infront of the mirror... yes that actually works in real life and not just in sims lol.I gained more confidence and always made a point of telling the guy sorry for acting like Im brainless at times but you take my breathe away LOL, but the talking in mirror thing made me realise that I can be confident if I try. You should try it... I promise it works :-)

He's making you nervous. I have this problem with some people. I can be thinking about amazing things. And, if someone intimidates me I'm blathering. It happens with both girls and guys with me. But, luckily not with bosses, etc.
But, it goes away the longer I know someone.

Just smile and breathe. Plenty of guys who are probably even better for you don't get you nervous. He should like you for who you are anyway. If you get nervous, he should forgive it, ya know?
