No, only if you straighten your hair too often and a on a heat that is too hot for your hair texture.

all heating elements damage your hair.. but ceramic is the least of the damaging for heating products. However, you can do some things to help with the damage like :
let your hair air dry
use a good moisturizing conditioner
put on a heat protector spray or hair serum before heat styleing
make sure your hair is COMPLETLY dry because it can kind of "boil" your hair if you try to straighten/ curl hair if it is damp (so dont use the "wet to straight" flat irons)
make sure you only use the heat temp you need... try it on a low setting and slowly work your way up till you get a good setting for your hair
dont sraighten your hair all the time...

Wilfred, anything you do to your hair does some amount of damage, but the ceramic flat irons, do less than the other flat irons. The only one I can vouch for is The True Ceramic Pro . Some people like the Chi brand, but I have no personal experience with it. They are expensive, but if you want to use a flat iron more than a few times, it's worth it to get one you can count on. If you only want to do it a few times, have it done for you. That will be cheaper for you, overall.

Any kind of intensive heat like that can damage your hair. Although ceramic ones are better then the non ceramic ones, not only are they better for the hair, they work better too. Don't trust the "wet to dry" hair straighteners, they can FRY your hair.

Ceramic straightners will only damage your hair if you use them continuously. Straighting your hair everyday will damage it. However every now and then should be fine :)

ALL hair straighteners will damage your hair to a point but ceramic straighteners are the best out of any of the options. They produce heat evenly and wont pull or burn the hair.
