I received a complaint from a Lexus owner that while he was using his mobile, his vehicle shut down and the steering wheel stuck up. Workshop said that the ECU was damage. The only reason they could think of was the Bluetooth of his headset affected the said component. Does any one heard the same incident?

Actually it is a big issue now in our technical dept. We raised it already to TMC and reviewed all the complaints before and started calling each customer if they were using their mobile while the accident happend. Vodafone confirmed that it was possible and Toyota said that they have incidents but regarding two way radios.

With automobiles becoming more electronically sophisticated and technically advanced, anything is possible. Several cars now have complete "Fly-by-Wire" systems that depend on electronics rather than mechanical connections for steering, brakes and throttle. If an electronic source of interference could be introduced into the vehicle, then it is possible that the safe operation of the vehicle could be effected.

This is why they do not allow cell phones to be used in aircraft while in flight.

Hahaha...Mobiles are th sources of distraction everywhere- he's obviously done some thing he wasn't aware of. Anyway, why would cars have bluetoth communications with the driver's phone if it affected the car? cheers:-)

The biggest electrical part inhibited by cell phone usage while driving is the drivers brain.
