Check out some stencils and try making "wallpaper" on your walls. Anything could be fun! I'd make the base white or cream color (cream is warmer), and the details would be turkey red. Black would be very cool along the moldings, and as accents in the room.
I'd be careful about making it too stimulating, though -- you have to sleep in there!
OH, one of my favorite looks is the Library Look. Dark, deep red walls, lots of brown leather and wood and books. You could even "paint" books if you are crafty.
Have fun!

hey, wow, red, white and black really go well together, so you have picked a great combination. here are some of my ideas you might want to consider.
1. a bedroom is a place to relax and a place to go to sleep and retire. by having black or red walls, the eyes and brain will stimulate making you more restless and uneasy. You might want to go for an off white, this makes it a little more clam and gives a better feel to the room.
2. a good idea that not many people think of is a border around the room. this can be wooden or in paper form. what would look really nice is to have a white or off white base, with a black border. in the first link i have, there is a border at the top of the room (i think this room looks horrible i know, but you can make it look quite smart if you use the right colours and placing. i wouldnt have it that high either, maybe lower down the wall, to make the room look bigger.
3. with the adding of black, you might want to have a stencil look on the wall as a feature. this will look really good against the white.- make it simple and easy, otherwise it will look too busy.
4. another great alternative i would consider is wallpaper. even just say one wall (as a feature wall). with this, i would go black with white background, and i would make it nice like florals, trees or something natural. its softer. the second link has some really nice examples of what i mean.
5. white furniture like a shabby chic bookcase looks really good in this kind of room, and the red and black should be used for highlights. (the main point im trying to make is it is better to have white as everything solid like walls and curtans and carpet, and then use the "retro" kind of look as things you can add and take away and move around for different looks).
6. i think red bedpread will go really well with this look. the red things to look out for are: red bedcovers and cusions (with a white throw rug), red rug for floor, red vase for flowers, red lamps or lamp shades, red photoframes etc.
7. another really nice look that is big at the moment is the photos on the wall. if you have an off white wall for example, put up say 6 different size black rimmed photoframes with a really white border, then a black and white picture inside. the picture doesnt have to be of people, it might be say of a celebrity, a drawing or even a peice of wallpapper thats interesting. put them close together, and not necissarily in a line, make iot look abstract. an example of what i mean is on the third webpage i listed.
8. with red and black and white, little things like vases or jewleryboxes etc work really well in high gloss coating. add beads and neclaces around then, to make them appear "vintage".
i hope i gave you some ideas anyway. good luck.

You might get tired of these colors very quickly. Then you will have to start over again.
I assume these colors are going on the walls and/or ceiling?
Don't get me wrong, because I love bright colors. It depends how you use them.
You could paint the walls a neutral color like very light beige on one wall and a slightly darker beige on another wall.
Downstairs in the lower level of my home where I'm talking to you now, I used light beige on the top half of two walls, because the rest is pine wood. On one end of the room (more long then deep) I am using an oriental theme. I have two large and three smaller oriental dolls. Three of the dolls are on a shelf unit and the extra large doll is on a table by itself.. On the wall behind her I hung a red and black Kimona to medium beige fans and a long oriental framed picture. which I might change. On the side wall I have another Kimona handing on the wall in soft red and pick with another framed Orienta painting. There is a white wicker three paneled screen and white wicker chair. I use accent lights.
After all my explanation, what I'm trying to say the accents are the Kimona's which brings out the colors of the Oriental doll in reds, cold and black. It all started with the dolls I purchased at my favorite antique store. They are antiques but I just had to have them and the room started from there. The other side of the room is completely different.
Mix, match, do what you want and like. Accents don't have to be the wall colors. You might have too much red and black. I love the combination, but it could become too over whelming . I love pillows for accents and lighting directed on the reds/blacks I have. One small lamp on the table by the large doll. You can always change things around. That's fun too. Nothing has to be perfect. Mix and match, what ever you want to. You like it, do it. I'm not real fond of beige, but it works for the accents you choose. I alway look for second had things. They prove to be more interesting to me. To each his ow.
That's my contribution if you haven't fallen asleep reading this.

oh my you just gave me an idea for myself! what about white and 3 or 4 different red paints with black accents
you can even add additional shades of red with red fabric (solid red, white-and-mostly-red patterns, tone-on-tone-almost-solid-red), making the total reds in the room like 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 different reds
that's my 'sophisticated' suggestion, to have the room as a play on multiple reds with constant white and constant black as grounding colors
50% white
45% RedS
5% black
red is more interesting when seen as a group/family of reds

i wouldn't recommend using black because it'll make your room look smaller.
if i were you,
i would paint the room and decorate it with the color pale blue, gold, white and brown.
that's looks very sophisticated.
like this picture

but with a lighter color of brown.
