You can do a search of your county website and see what you can find there. Some locations don't do court house services while others d o them all the time. Some require witnesses and others do not - it just depends.

Depending on the laws of your state, you may need blood tests done prior to getting married. Other then that, get a marriage license, ask a couple of friends to stand as witnesses, and go to a local wedding chapel or justice of the peace (when you get the license they should know how to get in touch with the JP). Very easy. If you are anywhere close to Nevada, there is no waiting, you don't have to be a resident and they provide the witnesses at the wedding chapels if you need them. Good luck to you!

your ceremony CAN be the way you want it!
my husband and i are wedding officiants serving all chicagoland.
first of all, you and your partner need to agree on a couple of things:
If you are going to have a small ceremony, where it's going to be. who you want at the ceremony and reception.
keep in mind not everyone you invite is going to go to the ceremony, that may help your family situation.
not just because we are in the business but when you get married at the JOP it's not personal nor creative!!
consider an ordained minister who will go to you and discuss your issues with that person to help give you ideas and address your concerns.

Justice of the Peace would be the most inexpensive option - go to vegas if you wanna have some fun! Your wedding day should just be about you two, not your families. Good luck!

I would elope. Go to Hawaii where you can get married and honeymoon there as well. The Grand Wailea Resort has a small church on the grounds you can get married at. Contact them for information concerning weddings etc. They can tell you what you need to do.

Go to the courthouse or take 2 of your best friends with you somewhere exotic- you get your wedding and honeymoon at the same time! Plus, you don't have to worry about any drama ruining your big day!

First of all tell us where you are, then we can give you better guidance.

Probably the cheapest way is a local pastor who may do it quietly with just yourselves and may even provide witnesses if you ask him. Most probably he won't charge but it would be reasonable to give him a money gift.

You can get married at a registrars office, or the courthouse, or you can hire an officiant to perform the ceremony at the location of your choice. Best wishes!
