haha I like your honesty. I feel similarly - for some reason it's therapeutic to express myself to strangers, even with the risk of them mocking me or criticizing me. I feel like R&S is kind of like this secret community I have on the side. I mean, I have good friends, but with good friends, there are certain things you can't say to them because they are too familiar with your issues, and they sometimes get sick of them. Or you know, you have a certain face you want to show to your friends, but with Yahoo! Answers you can be more vulnerable. It's not necessarily the best thing, because I believe we should ultimately open our heart to God, but at the same time, you're right that it's cathartic in this subliminal way.
btw you're the one with the crush on Jack B right? I think it's cute how blunt you are about it....I like honest people =)

I don't know why but i've been a lil more open minded here. I tried to write a blog on myspace, but someone I thought was an old friend decided to copy/paste some of the thoughts out of content and send to a relative...so it messed up my relationship. One problem is the relative is not "computer savy" doesn't even have one, nor realizes the deception that can happen... and I had to make that person realize she was trusting someone who wasn't being honest with her. The sad part is i knew this person had some problems but opened up my friendship without discriminating, but got burned. Maybe it's hiding a lil here, but people need' to feel they can be useful, have opinions, and internet veterans know that there can be true NEW friend's made [even if you never meet] that's what the internet is about isnt' it? I've been fortunate to meet several in the past and made long life friends...but i' feel I have several who i've never met and just know in my heart they are wonderful humans. It's nice to know were not all crazy or unusual for having "feelings",& "thoughts", Recently started to read the books on boundaries, and its a slow progress but i've always enjoyed self help --study to be a better person, so I hope.

No, I frequently express my feelings and thoughts, when I'm with people who are receptive to that (and sometimes I can't help myself, and I blurt things out when I shouldn't!). I teach Relief Society once a month, too, and that is another joy of self-expression for me.
However, I agree that Y!A is a nice safe place to begin practicing sharing beliefs, and also learning of other people's beliefs. It has been my stepping stone to expressing myself more clearly and kindly in real life, and has given me a basis from which to explore other religions. For instance, learning a few things about another religion gives me some understanding of their practices, and how I could approach them in real life, to learn more.
I don't have many friends (in real life), either, but the ones I have are true quality. Some of my contacts on Y!A have become very close to my heart, and very important to me.

I love yahoo for some of my contacts. I do visit their profiles to share my thoughts with them on the questions posed in this forum.
I prefer not to speak out in the social circles, but if some body is naively inquisitive on the spiritual issues, I do give him a piece of my mind. But I never insist. I join discussions on other day to day matters and politics, but that is only passtime for enjoying.
Here in yahoo, when I see so many people responding or reading through the answers, I do insist, not on things which are logical and right in my opinion, but essentially on those which actually are logical and right . My own opinion has got no place there.

Yes, it is the only place I can vent without worry of offending someone. My family is so on edge that none of us are usually capable of discussing important issues without a war brealing out. So, most the time I just remain silent to keep the peace. I enjoy getting off the wall answers that some might find offensive, at least when that happens I know people aren't speaking to me through their psychological programming, they are speaking from their heart and I like that. ;-)

I don't let my feelings and thoughts out. Not real ones, anyway. That is a dangerous thing to do. If I need to do something like that, I have my wife. She is the only completely trustworthy human being on earth. I kind of know how you feel, but be careful as well.

Not the only place. I can express myself through my writing quite well. I have a close group of friends around me, a tight support system from my family. Let's just say I'm blessed.

I have many other outlets to express feelings. They are too numerous to count. Try talking to friends and family, that could be another avenue for you.

I'm sorry that this is your only outlet, but I'm glad it is here for you. I express my opinions in a variety of ways... conversations with family being most prevalent.
