I let no man drag me down so low as to make me hate him.

Or do you give your power away to another?

I believe that hate is self-destructive. Half the people you hate don't know... the other half don't care... I just stopped hating people, it was a waste of my time and energy.

That is not power. It means that Booker T Washington does not allow any man to bring him down very low just to make him(washington) hate the man who is putting him down. It is not reasonable by the man putting Washington down if only to make him hate that man.

Pixie,
This is from one woman to another. I've been there already and will never go back! Man was not created to abuse women. We must learn to love and respect each other and most of all love and respect ourselves first. We make the choice of will i or wont i allow this person to continueally treat me this way and bring me down to his level! Please read this and always remember it
WOMAN
WOMAN WAS MADE FROM THE RIB OF MAN,SHE WAS NOT MADE FROM HIS HEAD,TO TOP HIM NOR HIS FEET, TO BE TRAMPLED UPON BUT OUT OF HIS SIDE, TO BE EQUAL TO HIM UNDER HIS ARM, TO BE PROTECTED BY HIM AND NEAR HIS HEART, TO BE LOVED BY HIM!
Give that power to your inner self and always be strong. There are allot of good fish in the sea, go out there and wheel one in!!

Eleanor Roosevelt said nobody can make you feel inferior unless you let them. I think that's similar. The idea is that anger is a weapon for your enemy.

Can that be applicable to a rape victim too?
They don't give their power away, they get attacked & it depends who has more strength/ ability to win (in woman's case escape).
