Fear of death, fear of Hell, fear of the 'end of days', fear of other religions, fear of people who are different, fear of homosexuality, and in some cases even fear that their most cherised beliefs might disappear from existence if the words "under God" in the pledge of allegiance were removed.Even those who would say they have no fear because of their faith have just admitted that they are using their faith to negate fear.

What is up with all this fear?

Why is it that only the non believers think it has anything to do with fear? Maybe you are trying to express your own fears without actually doing so?
I do not fear death, I do not fear hell couldn't give a rats behind about it actually, Don't fear the end of days, have no fear of other religions in fact I actually like researching them and seeing what we have in common, I love people who are different they make life interesting, cant fear family members so fear of homosexuality is out, Don't fear my beliefs will disappear either just a piece of history will. Think about how long has that been on our money surely longer than you have been alive and the pledge of allegiance has been around longer than anyone on Y/A it is history. It has nothing to do with our religion at all just history and if we lose the history of this country then we lose all its meaning.

Hey chris 2.0 some of us didn't have the luxury of faith as a child. My father is agnostic.

I think a lot of the above answers seem to forget that as a child when you are told you will burn in hell and be tortured in the worst imaginable ways for eternity to be instilling faith at least party through fear?

Homosexuality is such a sin because christianities judaic roots teach that it is wrong. When the jews rejected christianity and christianity then turned to the Romans and other gentiles to whom homosexuality was at least somewhat acceptable it had to be "stamped out".

They don't fear end of days most seem to be waiting indefinitely like their apocalyptic "god".

For fear of other religions see the crusades, inquisitions, which hunts, etc. For that matter look at the wars going on nowadays.

christianity is built on the fear of hell. Deny it all you want, half is the reverence of getting to heaven, but if hell is as awful as you describe, there has to be at least a little fear.

Wow! My friend, this is interesting! There are different types of Christians. There are ordinary Christians who do not recognise the ministry of the Holy Ghost nor of the angels. They deny the miracles of God and doubt if there is anything like speaking in tongues. These Christians do not understand the Bible. Every born-again has to receive the Holy Ghost, That is why Jesus told the deciples to tarry and receive the Holy Ghost. A Christian who is Holy Ghost filled does not fear. There is no reason to be afraid of hell because we are God's righteousness. It's a matter of knowing who you are in Christ. I'm a Christ Embassy type of Christian and I know who I am. I can not be afraid bcoz I'm a God carrier. Listern to Pastor Chris' teachings and you will discover that there is a type of Christians who are extraordinary. Yes, it's is true that quite a large number of God's children are fearful, But we are coming up with the real Gospel by the power of the Holy Ghost, glory to God!!!!

Hey! I like your Avator!

No Christians dont fear all those things, "for there is no fear in love, for fear hath torment" therefore there is no fear in love for God is love/

The wise king Solomon wrote , : ""the fear of the Lord is the begining of wisdom,,knowledge of the Holy understanding", thus the fear of the Lord, as Isaiah says , is the only perfect fear. If we fear the Lord in the right way, We wont worry about the other things, , God is in control, "when a man is righ t w/God, he maketh even his enemies be at peace with him".

Thanks.

I'm not afraid of death. I'm not afraid of hell. I'm not afraid of the 'end days.' I'm not afraid of other religions...

I fear that Christianity as a whole has given you and others the perception that we fear these things, and that we act out of fear.

I fear that I will not be an effective minister of my faith, because of whatever has caused you and others to have this perception of Christianity.

But as far as my fate personally, I have no fear.

Why do you think the first thing that Jesus said to people whenever he met them was "Fear not!" and "Peace be with you!" - The angels in the bible always say the same thing "Fear not!"

We are a fearful people, but if our trust is in God and not in ourselves, we know we have nothing to fear because God is in control.

You realize that Christians have nothing to fear of death, hell, the end of days or anything else you just mentioned.

Because God loves you enough to warn you what eternity would be like without Him. There are two reasons to receive Christ, fear of hell and love of God.

I'm not sure why you're afraid of all that stuff. In general Christians are not. Perfect love casts out fear.

Somehow I think you have found a different Gospel.
The Gospel is the good news.
Jesus paid the penalty of sin for all who accept the atonement.
