esophagitis means inflammation of the esophagus [throat inside].
dysfunction--not function correctly of course
cricopharyngeal--what I found on it was difficulty swallowing. It is a little ring muscle at the top of the esophagus. When you swallow the rings opens a little in a split second to let food or drink through to the stomach.

Cricopharyngeal dysfunction is a condition caused by varied factors where the cricopharyngeal sphincter or upper esophageal sphincter doesn't work properly for swallowing purposes. It may not open in time for food to go down the esophagus toward the stomach. The site may be swollen and irritated if factors include irritants like smoking or ingesting irritants such as spicy foods or alcohol. The result of this condition may be aspiration of food and as a consequence aspiration pneumonia. The Dr. may decide that the individual is not safe to eat by mouth and would refer for surgical management.
