Atlanta? These relatives are not coming to see me, they are coming here for a weekend for a event and they don't won't to pay the cost to stay in a hotel. They only call me when they need a place to stay for free. I haven't been answering my phone but they still insist on calling leaving mesages on my voice mail. I don't want to hurt their feelings, but I do know that they can not stay. How do I tell them NO without being to mean?

you have some reason why you do not want these ppl in your home and you have that right. You need to answer the phone and explain to them that you have received their messages and that you are sorry but you will not be able to accomidate them at the time when they will be visiting. You are the king of your castle don't let anyone else sit on your throne! Good Luck as I know saying no is difficult

Just casually suggest a hotel with good rates or Either say that you have plans or you wont be home. Last, truthfully, say this is not a good time for house guest and let them know soon so that they can make accommodations.

tell them you will be away for the weekend that you have a new friend that you go and see every weekend . then keep your curtains shut and park your car somewhere else. tell them its a new guy and that you go to his place because he works late and its easier for you to go there.

Tell them you don't have room. Refer them to a hotel nearby.
