Im 20 year old now, i was brought when i was 9 y.o. i went to school here, i learned the language, history, lifestyle, i do consider myself a Mexican American.. i go to college now for Graphic Design, when i enrolled for college couple weeks ago, i was ask for a SSC i don't have one, so i pay outsate tuition even though I've lived in the same county for 7 years, i pay extra!! just to get my education, i've volunteer for many groups, I HAVE NEVER ask for financial help from the Government. I worked and pay taxes! Im greatfull for all the opportunities that this country has offer me and my family! why can't i become legal, because i'm mexican? Is this country just trying to push me down and make me another "cotton, orange, limes, etc picker"? and not a succesful person wich is for what i aim! what do you think, i know there's more people in the same position as me, is there something for us! the ones that didnt choose to come here, but were brought!!!!

Honestly, I sympathize with you. It's a tough situation especially with you living here for nearly half you life.
But the fact is is that there are millions of people around the world who also want to come to America, and most of them do it the legal way.
Honestly, the people to blame are your parents. They knew what they were doing was wrong, and that it would lead to a tough life.
If anything, you can go back to Mexico and apply for citizenship from there.

"i was ask for a SAN i don't have one",
A. To enter college to need a SSN, to have a SSN you need to be legal.
"I HAVE NEVER ask for financial help from the Government."
A To gain help you need a SSN and to be legal
"I worked and pay taxes....."
A. How can you pay taxes via a job, if you do not have a SSN? And, you stated you don't have a SSN becuase you are not legal? So that does not make sense!
"why can't i become legal, because i'm mexican? "
A Your parents came here with you illegally, as such you have no rights to be a US citizen. This has nothing to do where you are from, you could be from the North Pole and have lived with Santa! But, you still commited a crime by entering the US illegally, even though you had no control of the situation as a child.
The people who deserve US citzenship are the legal immgrants who are have to wait years and follow the immgration laws of the USA.
Sorry but, the system has not let you down, your parents did by bringing you here illegally, knowing what would happen.

I would think that an immigration lawyer would be able to help you. You have lived most of your life in the states, there may be a legal way for you.Whatever your parents did, you are now on your own and only responsiable for yourself now. Good luck.

Wow, You are lucky you can afford to pay extra. Get a good education, so that you might understand. Your parents broke our laws when they moved here. There are legal ways to immigrate, but they chose not to use them for some reason. Get a good immigration attorney and quit griping. You are probably better off because you are here.

There's a price for everything, and right now you are paying the price for your parents mistakes. Is it fair? No, but neither is it fair for a child born to moms who used drugs while pregnant leaving kids with birth defects and mental retardation.
You have plenty of personal benefits from your parents illegal act while there is a child here or abroad who did not have the opportunities you did BECAUSE of that. The jobs your parents did should have been filled by someone legal and THEIR child should have gotten the good education so don't give me the "poor me" guilt trip, I'm not buying and neither are allot of other Americans.

Well, you are free to return to your country of origin, of course, but as long as you are americanized and speak english, you don't demand that your family join you here, you don't drive without insurance, you hold a steady job, you don't have any children, you don't abuse social programs, you haven't committed any crimes (besides entering illegally - your parents are guilty), you aren't a terrorist, you are not a member of any gang, and you don't fly the Mexican flag, I wouldn't mind letting you work toward legal status. (pay high fines, take a difficult citizenship test, and in english ...It shouldn't be free - that wouldn't be fair)
It isn't America's fault that you are in your situation. I have been in very tough situations in my life, and at one point, I needed unemployment, but was unable to get it, because much of the tax money goes to illegals already, instead of Americans that are in need of assistance.
By the way, lots of people pay that out of state fee.

Why don't you apply for citizenship? It sounds like you would qualify. Everyone who is not a citizen or lives out of state has to pay the extra fee. If you applied for citizenship you would not have to pay extra.

First of all, don't blame the country, blame your parents. They broke the law, knowing the consequences for you.
Second of all, you are now an adult, and responsible for yourself. It is now your responsibility to do what you need to do to make yourself legal since your parents didn't. You received some excellent advice from some of the people above on how to do this.

First of all, I have to say it's not our government that screwed you, it was your parents. I work with lots of folks from Mexico, and they make sure their children are well taken care of. You seem smart enough to go on and become a citizen of the USA, I'm behind you all the way. My political feelings from 40 years ago (making the USA and Mexico one country) has never seemed to be a popular idea, but maybe it will happen someday. Good luck in your life, and remember, your kids suffer from your mistakes, so don't do to them what your parents did to you. Ron
