10 years ago, when I was 14, I did a very goofy thing. I was a Christian and I was recording a message for the answering machine. Since it was Christmas, I was in a goofy mood and sang "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer". My mother saved that tape. Now every year at Christmas, they like to pull that out and get a kick out of it. It's not in a mean way, it's in a funny remembering type of way, but why do they get such a kick out of a 14 year old member of the family singing a song? And why so long after?

That's mothers....my wife saves a lot of things from our son. She tells me her boy is her treasure. I agree.

A tape with a song? Ever have your mother bring out photos of you laying on the carpet with the bun in the air?

Or maybe show your future wife pictures of a hairstyle you swear you never wore?

Oh I may roll my eyes, but I can't fault my mother for loving me.

Maybe they like remember you as a fun loving free spirited kid...I'm not implying that you aren't now, but they obviously like remembering you at that age, just reliving the past. Us parents do that sort of thing.

Teasing is a way of showing love is some families. If they do it kindly, cherish it, for it makes you luckier than some.

Glad to see you're back

this must be bothering you to write us about it. I think you should have a talk with your mom and tell her just what you told us. It's time to put away the grandma song.
