A 3- and 4-year-old is ripe with fantasy, so maybe so, or maybe not. Maybe his imaginary friend is called Gopher because your son likes the name Gopher.

I think Gopher is harder to say than god. He is probably asking you to Go for something and as you are not listening to him he is talking to an imaginary friend.

"Gopher" is this smart three olds way of showing you that Gopher is no less real to him than God is to you. He may be beyond his years and showing you that if God exists and you believe in him, well then I now believe in my new friend Gopher who is "really really there" and i am not delusional

It's possible, but not probable. I think that we are all born with an intrinsic notion of God - as being above everything, not anthopormorphized (at least not completely), and merely an imaginary friend. He could be attributing his innate understanding of God-like characteristics to the imaginary friend, but at the same time, I just believe that people know God is God and creatures are creatures -- even a three year old.

No. If your son says his friend's name is Gopher, then that's his friend's name. It might be the start of psychosis . . . but more likely, it's your son's imagination.

MY opinion is to sit down down your youngster down and seek advice from him, tell him that your decrease than no circumstances shape or type attempting to not settle for him, it incredibly is merely you opt for time to alter. tell him that if its his "pal"( and that i'm imagining which you're speaking approximately his bf) then why do not you in hassle-free terms have him slowly grow to be familiar with you and your loved ones (dinners right here, a trip there etc.) Then after a together as, yet not that long, enable him come and spend the night. If he gets offended tell him which you adore him unconditionally, yet don't sense to blame considering the fact which you're actually not letting his "pal" spend the night, you are the mum, you're on top of issues. ( I additionally think of you may desire to communicate on your son approximately risk-free intercourse, in case you're in touch, attempt calling an area planned Parenthood). as a count of certainty that your toddler merely like various different toddler could be having intercourse, and merely considering the fact which you do not enable his "pal" sleep over does not mean you're combating it. He feels mushy letting you in and telling you he's gay, be satisfied which you will raised a toddler so trustworthy, and which you have a robust relationship. help him locate his way in this chaotic worldwide and tell him that it incredibly is nice to be gay. possibly in case you have a gay coworker or pal that could desire to supply him training, it could make it slightly greater handy on you. i think of it incredibly is magnificent which you have one in each of those close relationship including your son, fairly pondering his age, and in hassle-free terms wish that i could desire to be merely as open with my mom and my sexuality.stable success and that i'm specific you will make the perfect decision!
