Who cusses in here? We get our accounts suspended for that.

And yes, the Bible does actively prohibit cussing, in Colossians 3:1-11 among other places (for those Christians who think that it's not there).

I think the closest to cussing I've done is use a common slang term for becoming angry, the initials of which are P.O. Which got my answer removed due to violation because I have a group called the Troll Patrol that God provided to help me stay mindful of what I say. He does this by turning their evil against their purpose thereby magnifying his glory. I’m amused by their hunger to have me banned although my post are more courteous and less prone to profanity. I only mention them to see what might happen, because if I do get banned then they own this site and there's no further point in using Yahoo. I'm not telling anyone else to leave, but voting with your feet would send a message to Yahoo... Just a thought.

By the way if as scripture says all sins are equal then profanity is more dangerous than homosexuality because anyone can do it at any time, all it takes is a spilled drink, or waking up late or someone cutting you off in traffic. Just another thought.

God is love. Love God. Love humans.

I am a christian and I do not cuss. But besides that, there are many who go to church on Sunday and live like sin Mon-Sat. There are some who think just because they repent once, and get a tingly feeling inside this means there are saved, but we must live by the commandments. One of which is to not take the lord thy God's name in vain. I understand how you feel, and the bible says someone who is lukewarm in Christ-(being repented but plays with god in sin) is not of God. It's worded differntly read Revelation 3:16

when I say "hell" I refer to a place....when I say "damn", I am refering to an eternal act.

Beyond that... I do the best I can to have my langauge honor the walk I've chosen.

But I will say this...typing clean speech is a lot easier than speaking. To many years in the Army...to many years of working in this environment. Still catch myself about to let a cuss word slip out.

I also believe what my Bible says about anger, lust, greed, selfishness, and much more. Guess what I'm trying to say is cussing isn't the only area to work on. And that's the point - that I'm a work in progress, and my worst enemy in this battle is actually myself.

i dont necessarily believe that saying certain words is a sin. it is more the intent of you words. but i also believe that we should do our best not to offend anyone or drive them away from God by being a poor example of "christlikeness" so saying words that would do those things would be a sin. i dont know if that answered your question or not.

also keep in mind that christian are just people who TRY to act like Christ, but who rely on the grace of God a LOT.

I don't recall a Christian answer with "cussing" in it. A Christian may refer to the word "hell" but it is usually used to describe or name or a place, and not as cursing. Using the word "Jesus" is used in reference to Christ, and not as taking the Lords name in vain. If there are other objectionable words being used, I am unaware of it. Could you please reference your remark?

To curse means to condemn. Most four letter words are not cursing and come from the Anglo-Saxon family. They are vulgar (meaning common) and describe bodily functions. Most were replaced in refinement by Latin words, like fecal. To damn a person and mean it maybe a sin (unless you are Hitler or something).

If Colossians is refferred to, that's just Paul spouting off whatever and not God or Jesus talking to you. Paul was annoyed with a lot of people and told them all off. His ideas weren't universally agreed upon. He also said women shouldn't talk in church and no one should get married.

They think that if it's done to non Christians,it's o. k.Bible doesn't apply in that case. After all there are exceptions for every thing, including Cussing.

No.I don't believe my Bible.I only have the Bible so that I can know what I am talking about when I discuss religion with believers and so I can know exactly what it is that they believe in.I also have a Koran and go on line to study up on the Torah. But I only read those things so I know what it is that people are delusional about.
