Well, you need to remember that the person who is giving you a shot has probably given hundreds, if not thousands of shots. And if anything went wrong during one of those shots, that was serious, he or she would probably have their medical license suspended. You have to give your trust to the person that is giving you the shot. To take your mind off of it, it always helps to start a conversation with the doctor or nurse. you would be surprised how much following these steps will help you conquer your fear of shots! It worked for my little sister.

to talk to them as you're giving the shot,
pinch the skin and to count to 3 but actually give them the shot before you count 1

Are you the Doctor or? If not, headphones with music/ocean sounds, etc., and turn away would help. Something delightful smelling also helps.
